I don't know how many of you remember this but on December 1st I wrote an entry about how I got those test results back from my doctor's appointment. Well, today was the actual procedure...
I had a biopsy. They didn't burn out any of the abnormal cells. Not yet, anyway. All they did right now was take a piece of the affected area to send it in for testing. It was uncomfortable, but nowhere near as painful as I feared it would be. It burned more than anything.
It was cool though, because there was a camera so I could see everything that they were doing inside of me. It was actually a really great way to distract people from what's actually going on because when you are watching the t.v. your brain doesn't really click that what you are looking at is you...so the pain doesn't register so much. It's like watching a medical show. lol.
So, basically I have another appointment in three weeks when they will have the final results and I will know for sure whether or not it's anything major, which I don't think it will be. I really hope that it was just some minor infection of some sort. Plus, the pamphlet the doctor gave me gave stats that said that 75% of Canadian women go through this procedure at least once in their lifetime, often just because it's the result of a simple, curable infection. So, I'm glad that part is over. Here's hoping for some positive news in three weeks time. *crosses fingers*
I came home afterward and to distract myself I alternated between working on one of my essays for school and watching "Friends", "House: Season One" and "The Sopranos: Season Two". :)
