So, it's almost two in the morning on Friday night/Saturday morning and I just got back from a bar that included drinks with friends and lot's of karaoke. lol. It was a lot of fun, actually. Needless to say, I'm still pretty wired so I thought I'd write my review for "Marie Antoinette" which I saw with my sister on Friday afternoon ( Read more... )

Thanks for the review. :) I need to go see this. You have a great way with words. I wish I could take home all of the costumes from the film.

Be sure to post your thoughts when you get around to watching it. Thanks for the compliment, I try to take my time when I write reviews. I just want to make sure everything sounds exactly like how I viewed it.

I will. :D
It won't sound half as good your review though. Something about when I'm not writing school papers, my writing sounds choppy just doesn't flow right. My journal entries are atrocious. lol. Not to mention my extreme lack of attention to grammar.

I really wanted to see this movie but so many people have said its crap. Also a film critic on good morning america said it wasn't all that great apart from the costumes and settings. But I like Kirsten Dunst so i think i will see this movie but ill probably wait till it comes out on dvd. By the way did Coppola use punk/rock music in the movie coz I think that would kinda ruin the movie ay?

It's not crap. I'm a firm believer in going out and judging the movie for yourself. I think you'd enjoy it.

Yes, the soundtrack does have some 1980's songs, as well as some punk, but it's not used very frequently and, oddly enough, seems appropriate when it is used.

I loved this film. I went into it not expecting much, as well, but came out of it pleased. I can obviously understand it wasn't historically accurate, but I loved the young and modern twist put into it.

Roger Ebert gave the film four out of four stars on his website, by the way =)

I didn't know that Ebert gave it such a positive review. lol. Now I definately know that I'm not the only one who felt this way. I think the press at Cannes was overly cruel to the film. It's not meant to be a historical biopic so I don't see what the problem is.
