so, a thought occured to me on the way back from picking up chinese food....
do humans tend towards assimilation and conformity to ensure a level playing field evolutionarily speaking? we're all raised to learn that we are all unique and that we are all different from the inside out (which is true), but is that a disadvantage that we all overlook as we subconsciously try to fit in and become like everyone else?
after that thought, i started thinking about how certain people usually go for certain other people. if everyone was truly unique and didn't conform in some way to become like everyone else, most of the people in the world will have never found love. this would be because people would only go for that one person rather than their type of person (there wouldn't be any types).
then, i started thinking that humans are kinda like atoms. some atoms are attracted to certain different atoms depending on which element you are and are attracting. then i started to think, "hmm... is that the secret to life? does everything in life naturally tend towards a "type" in order to continue life?
then, i started thinking about the 2nd law of thermodynamics and how it would apply to this stream of thought as i drive 40 mph on dorsett ave. are "types" an equilibrium between chaos and order? in all things in nature, do "types" create just enough order in chaos to maintain life in a homeostasis?
then, i started thinking about thought. what in the hell sparks one? i was thinking about the pyramidal tract in the human nervous system which is primarily all motor related. it starts with just a thought. what in the world makes that thought??? i already know that various neurotransmitters can effect thought, but i dont think that they create thought. what coctail of organic compounds and energy sparks a thought? it's so innate... it's inconcievable to me. it's not like wondering how people can type without looking at the keys, opening the combination lock to your anatomy locker, or doing everyday various things without really thinking about doing them because that's learned neuromuscular memory. i want to know what even causes the initial thought type, open the lock, etc.
then, i got home, ate my lo mein, and watched tv.
