Oh, so you went with that translation in the end?

Yeah, and hopefully it's kind-of-sort-of vague enough to cover multiple interpretations without being so vague that people bang their heads against their desks from not having a clue what is going on? Or maybe the pretty art will distract them from looking at the words! Probably that is my best bet...

I did notice that you'd made it vague like that--not a bad choice, really. It was a tough bit to translate. I rather liked the translation interpretation that I came up with toward the end, but you took what was probably the most property approach.

Sorry that I couldn't help all that much.

I'm glad it didn't sound too terrible. I just wasn't quite confident enough myself to commit to that idea, even though it was a great one--a really lovely interpretation tugging on all the right heart-strings. My favorite part about this couple <3
(That's one of the perks of doing the translating--I have the Final Translation Put On The Paper, but I also get to go through all the possible and sometimes just plain wrong when it's me jumping to assumptions before I have knowledge, I should stop that habit interpretations along the way that didn't quite seem to fit but would have made me equally happy and fangirly if they'd been what the author intended. It seems kind of like I'm cheating...)

No no, as I said, the whole talking-it-out and brainstorming process really is helpful! Even if we couldn't get to a definite, solid, this-has-to-be-the-only-right-answer translation. I really appreciate it!

Oh, no, it didn't sound terrible. Japanese is just so ambiguous, isn't it? But, oh, tugging on heartstrings... I do love that.

I usually add T/N comments all over the places when making translations; I can't resist. How do you manage to go without them?

Well, let me know via PM if you have questions that the other comm can't answer; I'll try to help you out!
