INVITED!
It's official... I'm going to Bulgaria!
My invite finally came in the mail today, and I was shocked to see it had come so early. Upon opening the huge envelope I found a letter from my placement officer outlining all the steps I have to take now, a copy and paste letter signature-stamped by the President, an information booklet, the official Peace Corps Manual, and a big folder full of things I have to turn in within the next 10 days including:
passport and visa applications
aspiration statement form
financial information
insurance forms
waivers
etc.
As for the future, here's what I'm looking forward to:
Orientation/Staging: 7/18/08 - 7/19/08
Pre-Service Training: 7/21/08 - 10/01/08
Official Term of Service: 10/02/08 - 10/01/10
And that's when it hit me - when I looked at the term of service. Seeing that 2010 date just made everything incredibly real. I'm actually going to be doing this. The dream of mine is within my grasp... I'm actually doing this!
Anyway, I'll be incredibly busy for the next week, as now I have to fill out tons of forms, etc. on top of having finals, major papers, and the like due. I think it'll all be worth it though.
