Ok - so I read an article today that totally took me back to middle school and high school. L.J. Smith is the first author I read to get me into the vampire and other assorted fantasy genres. I absolutely LOVED all of her books, especially the "Night World" series. In fact, I still have all but maybe one or two of her books (loaned them out and never got them back) - I was unable to give these books, along with my Nancy Drew books, away when I packed for college and then later packed all my stuff when I got married and moved away permanently.
Anyways - I'm kinda excited that they picked up a series for the author, because like I said - loved her books as a teenager, however, I never watch the CW mainly because all their shows look like crap. I really hope they don't turn it into a gossip girl type show or something like the totally lame new 90210.
www.comingsoon.net/news/tvnews.php For me - this is way more exciting than the Meyer's Twilight series. This lady can actually write AND her vampires are really vampires - not allowed in the sun for example. Plus - now I think I have to reread this young adult series because now she's coming out with a new book in the series this month - so I have to go reacquaint myself with all the characters from my youth =)
