wow. it was amazing.
train ride wasnt as uncomfortable as i thought it would be. we met a guy on the train and played cards for 6 out of the 17 hour trip! he was weird and thought melissa was cute so he was puttin on his game. it was funny. he got off at Greensboro and transfered onto a train that de-railed later that night. no body was hurt. so who cares? haha
julie's appartment is really awesome and fits her perfectly. monday night we went to see PHANTOM for free. it was amazing. we had to pretend like we worked there so we could get in. it was awesome. after the show julie got us backstage and we got to go see all the trap doors and all the huge ass set pieces and the SM told us all about how everything works. it was SO awesome! we stood like 2 feet from the chandelier while they were plugging it in to charge over night. then we went and had some awesome hot dogs and went to sleep.
tuesday we went to see Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and it was amazing. Before we went to see the show we got tix at the TKTS booth for 50 bucks so they were really $100 tickets. On our way to the CIRCLE IN THE SQUARE THEATRE to find out about 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE tickets we ran into Caitlin Granville on like 43rd street. it was awesome. So anyways...DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS was SOOO good! i got to see Joanna Gleason, NORBERT LEO BUTZ!, John Lithgow, SHERRI RENEE SCOTT... LIVE ON BROADWAY! it was SUCH an good show. after it we ran to the stage door and i got a playbill, poster, and program signed by John Lithgow and Norbert Leo Butz. they are such nice guys. Joanna and Sherri didnt come out. o well.
the next day me and melissa went to the SPELLING BEE theatre and got two of the last STANDING ROOM ONLY tickets to the show. it was SOOOOO hilarious. Jesus even makes a surprise appearance. anyways. so there was a CD signing that just HAPPENED to be that same day at a bookstore right down Broadway for the same show. so me and melissa bought a poster each and i bought a t-shit and we went to the signing and got the entire cast to signe our posters and playbills. then they performed and melissa took a video on her camera. they are amazing. and they sang WHY WE LIKE SPELLING and the I LOVE YOU song. while there we met a friend who told us that the movie cast of RENT would be performing at Bryant Park the next day at noon. that meant, Idina Menzel, Taye Diggs, Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp.
ya...we went. and sat in the FRONT ROW. below are pictures...
Anthony Rapp talking about BROADWAY CARES: EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS.
Idina Menzel and Tracy Thoms singing "TAKE ME OR LEAVE ME"
Anthony Rapp getting ready to sing "SEASONS OF LOVE"
The whole cast of the movie RENT! singing "SEASONS OF LOVE"
The happily wed Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel singing "SEASONS OF LOVE"
The original ANGEL. i forget his name right now. haha
Anthony Rapp, ANGEL, Tracy Thoms
Idina Menzel
and last but not least. Mr. Adam Pascal.
THAT was amazing. we didnt even bother trying to meet them though. it woulda been damn near impossible.
then we went to see Avenue Q which was really entertaining, but i was disappointed. i thought it would have been even funnier. o well i still enjoyed it! and now i am home! woot!
im going to see Kathryn and Lauren and David in Footloose tonight. and then to Evita at the fox tomorrow! then its school! does anyone pass my neighborhood in the morning that could take me?
