you see this is the problem. you cannot come off of a day of silence for your cause and post this about other people being ignorant. thats why the cause gets ZERO support. you are being ignorant to people who have different views by shutting them out. they may do immature things like tearing down posters, but posting this certaintly isnt helping

I did a day of silence last year for a different cause (domestic violence) and it was one of the most influencing moments of my life. To sit and be completely detached from the world around you be not being able to communicate in any way is completely eye opening. I doubt a single person I saw participating today got that experience. You got what it would be like to go hoarse and lose you voice. I doubt that’s how harassment victims feel. And not only did it become completely wasteful to those participating, but it was a waste of time for those you were trying to raise awareness among. No one stopped to think of anything because writing notes and mouthing words shows no sacrifice or dedication, yes, it probably was a little inconvenient. Harassment is NOT inconvenient. So what is the point? Honestly, if I didn't personally know what was going on, seeing what I saw today would have completely turned me off to GSA and all it stands for. All you got across is a "Look at me! I'm not talking!" I saw ONE PERSON hand over a flier with the reason for the silence. I understand there was a problem with T-shirts, but honestly it looked like a imitation of the AP physic day. I feel that a good cause was misrepresented today, and that made me sad. It’s a cause that needs to be shown, but not like this.

I'm sorry if this offends, it is not meant to.

And Austin, I saw tally sheets too, and that was just dumb. All they did was get people to say those words MORE.

Hey, i don't know you, but I agree with you. your comment makes a lot of sense and is exactly what i was feeling today while seeing people be "silent" You made a good point.
