i'm programmed for etiquette, not destruction

This entry is rather heavy on cuts. Just a warning.

So I've been working on the approximate timeline of everything that occurs in my writings, and everything was going fine until I was trying to fit in when Talitha got appointed to her various governmental positions (which I had all timelined out back when story events corresponded with our dates). So logically, all I had to do was change the real-world dates to the story dates and then fit them in. Which I thought was going to be easy because my other notes said that Talitha was appointed head superior in 2011, and I know that 2011 corresponds with 2826 because that happens to be the same year that Axelle was born (because Axelle was born six years after the events that used to be in "The Power of Light," which occurred in 2820). And because Talitha became head superior after her eight-year term as a regular superior, all I had to do was subtract eight from 2826, which left me with her becoming a regular superior in 2818. That was where everything became all wonky and DOES NOT COMPUTE, because according to the timeline that was the same year that Karis and Xavier came to Thoswodawn, and Talitha shouldn't become a superior until after that happens. The reason that the dates got messed up, I realized, is because I moved all of Karis's Nocturne dealings ahead two years (so she started her training at age 10 instead of 8, finished her training at 14 instead of 12, and betrayed/escaped them at 16 instead of 14). Before I did that, Karis and Xavier were arriving in Thoswodawn in 2816, so it worked out that Talitha would become a superior in 2818. Now, though, I think I'm going to have to end up shortening the terms of Nuin superiors so that things fit better in the timeline, but that leads to yet another snag. While Talitha is a head superior, she and two other superiors are killed by Silas, presumably in the last two or so years of their term, and it's after that that Karis, Xavier, and Sidra become superiors. However, if I shorten the terms of the superiors, the years won't work out because Karis, Xavier, Sidra, and Silas must be superiors in 2839, and they wouldn't be if their terms were shortened. So now I have to figure out how I'm going to work that all out.
On the bright side, though, I finally figured out how I'm going to do everything in Arx Chalybs without the who light/darkness thing (and how to kill off certain characters because of the non-presence of light/darkness). Now Talia has Speshal Powers (similar Speshal Powers to Eltanin, actually). The only hard thing will be not making her too much like Namine or Ellone.

There's this thing called "Daily Dose of Lost" here (http://www.theackattack.com/). They're brilliant. (Basically, it's taking screencaps from Lost and recaptioning them with quotes from other sources--or the reverse, in the case of th 8/29 one which is so full of win.) I decided to do a few of my own, although mine aren't humorous, exactly; they just show how quotes from other sources can be strangely applicable to Lost.

Obviously you have to be familiar with Lost to get them, but I enjoy them.

Soooo I think that's it for today. I think I'm going to make some more icons that I can't use but are pretty so yay!
