the improper-grammar saga continues: we were going over our "parallel structures" worksheets in class this morning, and when rob was reading his correct answer, he said "[insert beginning of sentence here, which introduces a list]--and then i put one of those colon things--[insert the list-ish rest of the sentence here]." shaylagh and i were just sitting behind him going *facepalm*.
also, in latin i made up the phrase "whip you like cream." it's kind of a long story as to how that came about. it all began with me writing an innocent "i <3 sarah" on her workbook, and then it turned into me tying sarah up and whipping her with chains, but i can't exactly remember how it got there. then during lunch shaylagh, katelyn, meghna, and i were having some weird discussions about old people and their *ahem* lovers.
also also, last night i officially changed kaarisme's abomination of a name. it is now "karis." pretty similar, but a lot less... weird. i'm not sure whether it'll be pronounced "kahr-iss" or "kair-iss." the legit pronunciation is, i believe, "kair-iss," but "kahr-iss" is more similar to her original name. but i always know when a name change is good because it makes me feel tingle-y and squee-y. it was like that when i changed tidan to perrin, karik/riley to callum, xylem to finn, blizzard to kai, kaleigh to ellery, mystic island to soalis island, and rocky village to new collis village. on the other hand, i tried to change perrin's mum's name to maia, but for some reason it just seemed weird. so she will remain "astrid" until i find something better. you'd think that because i like more girl names than boy names, i would've come up with something by now.
also also also, i apologize in advance for all my "kingdom hearts"-related quotes. it's just that i've got a whole file of them at my immediate disposal. i can't help it.
