* The newspaper informs me that "Megastorm looms" over Seattle today. Yes, we're expecting snow. No, I do not believe it will be the second Ice Age. Yes, getting home is going to be a COMPLETE PITA today, but that's mostly because of people here having no idea how to drive in remotely adverse (or even adverse-lite) conditions.
(I just got a text from my Dad, who's in Indiana: "I heard you're getting snow. Are you OK?!" Rather than responding "Stop watching The Weather Channel, Dad!" I just said, "No snow yet. Just a lot of panicking Seattlites and Midwest transplants complaining about Seattlites.")
* I have now watched "The Reichenbach Fall" and the rest of this season of Sherlock what is officially an embarrassing number of times. The brain churns. My Region 2 DVDs should be showing up from Amazon.uk next week. *bounce*
* I not only didn't watch the Golden Globes, I completely forgot it was on.
Complete list of winners. I am happy to see Christopher Plummer won for Beginners, which he was delightful in. Also thrilled to see Idris Elba, Peter Dinklage, and Jessica Lange also got their due.
*
BAFTA noms are out. * Post-Reichenbach Fall Rec of the Day:
Stand Alone Among the Wreck--Yes, this.
*
New picture from The Hobbit. Bilbo! Sting!
*
Shirley McClaine signing on to Walter Mitty remake. It's been in development hell for a long time, so I still have hopes this will not take off and be the latest to Fuck with My Childhood.
*
Bill O'Reilly. That's all I'm saying.
*
Rebooting Fantastic Four. Well, I'd rather they work on something else, but it's unlikely to be WORSE.
* You see this,
feochadn?
The CW developing Green Arrow series. If you haven't, don't give yourself a coronary by looking.
* Non-Yuletide Rec of the Day:
Sherlock (just a coincidence, I swear!):
Seven Hours in the Sun--Sherlock does not like to be touched. He doesn't mind touching, though. Weird and wonderful.
* Yuletide Rec of the Day:
The Eagle:
A Place to be Free--"Esca needs a place to be free. Marcus wants to give it to him."
