devilc has a good list of good news to come out of the elections yesterday in the US. Among them, that the Mississippi "personhood" amendment failed and that Ohio overturned the anti-union law, which I am damned glad to see.

* On a more personal note: I'm bummed because I decided to be a responsible adult and NOT take time and money to go visit my folks. I really want to pay off my car as quickly as possible, plus I'm hoping to do a big trip out of the country this coming year. Add on the fact that I have a horrible feeling this is going to be a bad winter (which means I must hoard my vacation days on the off chance they close the U), and...

Blerg. It's not like I didn't see them this year. And, seriously, after this last year, I'm actually a little nervous about going anywhere: every time I've left town, someone's dying or died. I know the connections are only coincidental in most cases, but I can't help it.

* I had a dream last night where Danny and Steve, Ryan and Esposito from Castle, and my brother and I were all chasing a suspect around the Florida Keys in a cigarette boat. It was odd, if enjoyable.

* Brett Ratner NOT directing the Oscars. With lots of links to most of the stuff-that-is-making-his-publicist-cry comments he's made in the last week or so. Really, you need to be a better director before you can get away with being this much of a jackass.

* Universal to re-imagine young Leonardo Da Vinci as an action hero. I...okay.

* Rec of the Day:

H50: Steve McGarrett, Life Coach--Coda for 2x04. ETA: Fixed to make Steve a Life Coach instead of a Life Couch. Although I think his couch is seeing plenty of action, ifyaknowwhatImean.
