I have to share this story because it is the single greatest poker moment of my life thus far --
I'm in a 45 person tourny online (fake money) and only 7 get in the money. So naturally, it's down to 8 and I'm super short stacked. I'm talking I have 300 in chips with 200/400 blinds. So right before my BB hits, I have A 4. A of clubs, 4 of hearts. I'm all in. 5 callers. So my side pot is 1500ish.
Flop - 5 2 6 all hearts. Eh, not good shape. Couple guys bet back and forth.
Turn - 5 clubs. Someone bets big, a raise. I'm in trouble. Someone else is all in. Yipes
River - 3 of hearts. Wow. Yes. I hit my straight flush. 4 card straight flush. More betting, the cards are shown. Someone flopped a King high flush, someone else flopped an ace high flush and someone had a full house. But I hit my card. Only 1 card left in the deck to help me, and I hit it. Amazing.
I went on to survive a little longer and get 5th in the tourny, the greatest accomplishment of my life so far.
