Patrick and I had a GREAT time on our vacation. If you've never been, you have to see Niagara Falls, but you have to stay on the Canadian side. It was amazing! We had a great hotel room. I had originally booked one on hotels.com. When we found it, it was so scary, we didn't get out of the car. We just drove off and found another place to stay. We ended up at the Sheraton on the 17th floor with a falls view, king bed, fireplace, and jacuzzi tub. It was fabulous! All for $99 Canadian a night. That's about $69 US. And on our last night there, they shot fireworks over the falls.
Then we went to Casino Niagara. We turned $250 into $770. We did pretty good. Made enough to pay for both hotel rooms and the tour that we took.
Then we headed to Cooperstown. I love Cooperstown. But that's because I love baseball. It was a little shock for Patrick because Cooperstown is about the size of Montevallo. Our room there was half the size of the Sheraton, old, and $20 more. But after looking around the rest of the town, it was one of the better places.
After that, we headed to my family reunion. I had a good time, but I think Patrick was a little overwhelmed being surrounded by 133 of my relatives. After the reunion, we had just enough time to drive to the New York Harbor to see the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the Manhattan skyline. Didn't have enough time to do the ferry.
It was one of the best vacations I've had in a very long time.
