Majel Barrett Roddenberry, who was known for her roles as Nurse Chapel, Lwaxana Troi, and the voice of every Starfleet computer, has died at the age of 76 following a bout with leukemia.

I truly enjoyed her as Lwaxana Troi opposite an often ill-at-ease Picard. She was wonderful comic relief, but could also play the dramatic role, as seen in a particular episode in one of the latter seasons of TNG. She had completed work on the upcoming Star Trek feature film, reprising her role as the ship's computer.
