Pepsi Throwback - HELL YES!!
Let's get a couple of things out of the way first. Pepsi and Coke are NOT the same thing. I can taste the difference between the two; I got $20 that sez I'll go 10 for 10 in the Pepsi challenge any day. Also, I consider myself a Coke man. I don't dislike Pepsi, but if you gave me a choice (of a new generation), I'd C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-C-Catch the wave and pick Coke more often than Pepsi.
I got a text from papabear27 about this limited time version of Pepsi. What's so special about it? It's the original formula using regular sugar as it's sweetener instead of that horrible high-fructose corn syrup that damn near all soda makers are using now. It definitely tastes better than the current HFCS version, which seems to me to have a harder "bite", for want of a better word, to it's flavor. If you get to try it, and like it, I'd encourage you to correspond with Pepsico and let them know that, and get your friends to do the same. Perhaps we can get the original formula back as their primary prduct, and we'll see HFCS go the way of the dinosaur.
Now, cola wars being what they are, I'm waiting for the Coca Cola people to put their own "throwback" on the market. I tried like hell to find the Kosher Cokes this year during Passover, but none made it to any of the local stores. :-(_ _ _ _
