i think you're a wonderful person and although i don't know much about your academics, i think you shouldn't settle for a comfort zone. but what do i know, i just want to provide encouraging words. i do think you're talented though.
i missed cat power twice when they were here in nyc, but there seems to be another date in february. too bad i have no friends that listen to the music i listen to, so alone to another show i go again.
today i went to the mid-manhattan research library on 5th avenue, the one with the steps and two lions out front. i forgot how massive it was in there and i became overwhelmed with the architecture and the lighting. i was so glad to have my camera on me because every where i turned was something i wanted to have a picture of. and even while i was studying, i would sneak a photo of the rows of people at their seats bent down brows in a knot, reading whatever it was that they didn't seem to enjoy. and a little girl asked me why i was taking photos and i told her "so i can show people exactly what i was looking at when i decided i wanted to cherish that exact moment for as long as i could". and she said "i want to do that to", and that made me smile so much.
don't feel so down, it could just be holiday depression. i've heard that happens to people. once finals have passed me by, i'll probably get hit with it too but right now i'm just too occupied.
AW. that thing with the little girl is wonderful. do you carry your camera with you everywhere you go? i need to get into the habit of doing that.
whenever i go to libraries in new york city i always think of that book the chosen. have you ever read it? well it's about this hasidic (hacidic?) boy from new york who goes to the library and reads freud even though he is not supposed to. it just described a lot of details of the library, and i always stop in when i'm in nyc. i forget which one it is now though. by central park.
yeah i know, she definitely made my day after 4 hours of studying :) i try and carry it every where. particularly on days with nice weather and if i'm going somewhere out of the ordinary (somewhere that's not school).
i haven't seen 'the chosen' but i'm quite interested now. i like to see movies shot in new york because i like to recognize places. i actually don't know a lot of the libraries, i live a lot more downtown from central park.
