OMG OMG...
Long time since my last post, and it's time for an update! (Happy new years too!)
Besides procrastinating beyond all means in posting a tutorial (ごめんなさい) and being liberated from the death traps of classes, to find myself currently thrust into the boring, boring realm of African history course... sigh.
My iTunes library has been flooded with downloads of k-pop music recently. Yes, K-POP. Just as addictive as J-pop. Just as attractive as J-pop. But there's something about K-pop that completely immersed me into the bubble gum pop world of plastic-surgery-addicted-idols (who could rival the Hellenic gods in a beauty contest) more so than Jpop (sorri Arashi~). :x
So here is a list of my current favorite kpop groups:
1. The BBoys from BIGBANG
Notorious for their hip-hop style and incredible talent, these five VIPs of BIGBANG made millions of girls' hearts go wild after debuting in 2006. There's no mystery as to why. Their songs are absolutely addicting, from the smooth vocal talents of Taeyung and Seungri to Daesung's distinct voice to hard rapping skills of T.O.P (<3) to the ever-so talented (and sometimes crazy) leader, G-Dragon.
My favorite member is the resident gangster rapper, T.O.P. Besides his handsome looks, he is the only member that did not undergo YG training and is a contender to Matsujun's ichiban status (SRSLY!! I'm a torn fangirl). Not to mention, it's really, really, really cute trying to wake him up. ^3^
2. The YGLadies who bought the 'Fire': 2NE1
The "female Big Bang", 2NE1 (Minzy, CL, Dara, Bom) bought the fire in 09 and there's no sign of slowing down these YGladies. What is there not to love about them? Addictive and catchy songs, crazy cool fashion styles, and charismatic personalities... CHECKCHECKCHECK. I really admire their outrageous style choices because they're still cool, no matter how far fetch it is.
3. I want nobody, nobody, but Wonder Girls!
If you do not know who Wonder Girls are, you have been living under a rock. 09 was blow-out year as they debuted in the US and reached #1 in the Billboard Charts for their infectious song and dance to "NOBODY". However, these girls have more to offer than just one song. Check out their pass hits such as, "Tell Me", "Irony", and "So Hot" that garnered the huge fan base in Korea. Next mission: to take over the world! And no one will be able to resist because they're so hot, hot.
4. I rike the MUZIK of 4minute
HyunAh (ex Wonder Girls) is now the face and faux leader of 4minute (along with Jihyun, Gayoon, Jiyoon, and Sohyun). They have been plagued with comparisons to 2NE1 (who debuted AFTER them), but 4minute has a bada$$, sexy attitude and style all their own. Everytime I hear their songs, it just makes me want to dance (wish I had matching glow-in-the-dark kicks too). BOOM BOOM, rike it, rike it.
5. Brown Eyed Girls will make you sway your hips and heart stop
4minute's sexy "headphones" dance move is nothing to the hip sway done by the ladies of BEG, whose popularity skyrocketed after debuting their new image in 09. You will become a fan of BEG after the I say the *magic* word... Abracadabra!
And, of course, how can I not mention the Dirty Eyed Girls parody??? LOLz!
