News from Poland for today:
- Little Britain is on Polish public TV. CENSORED. From the last episode the scene with homosexual priest was removed. Explanation we heard: it's too harsh for Polish sensitivity and sense of good taste. Hello? Have you heard about the 'turn out' or 'switch channel' button on your remote?
- Ministry of National Education made a new list of obligatory lectures for schools. They added three Dobraczynski's novels (known Polish catholic writer), a book by John Paul II and his biography. They added also Plato's 'Apology', which is good, and 'Emperor' by Kapuściński which is even better. But to make these additions they had to remove some books from the list. What did they choose to exclude? Goethe. Dostoyevsky. Conrad. Kafka.
What can I say. They exchanged Goethe for Dobraczynski.
Someone, have mercy. Shoot me or them.
