orientation.
yesterday, when my parents came to pick me up from college orientation, we were walking down this little pathway to get starbucks with my future roommate when they spotted the chop shop, the haircut place on campus. "10$ haircuts! i want a haircut!" so sure enough, after starbucks, both of my parents got trendy college student haircuts while jovana and i leafed through gigantic books of bad styles waiting for her parents to arrive. oh, the flooding and delays!
i feel really genuinely lucky. i ended up in a suite with jovana who i immediately recognized from a previous tour, and soon after we were attempting (unsuccessfully) to sneak out to the espers show. we did finally get out the next night, but instead for ethiopian food (which you eat with your hands!) and part of a show her friend was "curating." it's nice to know that somebody else is doing the honors-tyler combo next year.. our schedules are almost identical so we will be able to keep each other on track. due to good timing and a little preferential treatment, we will be rooming together, and just the thought of rooming with someone who is so compatible with me takes away all the anxiety-now i'm just excited.
