busy busy busy.....
one of the girls is sick today so i have to cover part of her shift.
here's how my day USUALLY goes...from 10-12:30, i do production (making commercials and stuff) 12:30-1:30 lunch, from 1:30-2 do some clean up prod and then i'm on air from 2-6. since erin is sick, that changed. i'm on air from noon-6 (doesn't sound like much to non-radio people...but if you're in the biz, you know that's a long shift). i TRIED to do some prod earlier....but stu (former afternoon drive person and now a salesman) wanted to record one of his clients...he said at 11....AT ELEVEN!!! at 5 after, his client wasn't here (keep in mind, i'm sitting around doing nothing...waiting for him to be done). when she finally arrives, they go in an office to shoot the shit...at 20 after, i go and ask them to get their spot done.
"can ya wait 5 minutes?"
"no, can you please do it now."
so, i get a dirty look....he was PROBABLY just kidding around..but at this point, i was kinda upset.
they go in the prod studio...AND JUST KEEP SHOOTING THE SHIT! like, hello? i have freakin' work to do...get your shit done and get out!! stop waisting my time!
luckily, my boss rob, did the production that i didn't have time to do. i like rob...i'm kinda bummed out that he got a job in nova scotia and he'll be leaving this coming weekend. he's one of the only "friends" i have here....like, i have co-workers that i'm friendly with...and we hang out and stuff...but, with most of them, ALL they talk about is work. god, there are other things to talk about! but no matter what, it always gets back to work...and how little money they make...and blah blah blah...one guy more then the rest....and that's why i'm trying to distance myself from them a bit. don't get me wrong, i like them...but i don't want the ONLY thing i ever talk about to be work and bitch about money. hi, you're in radio...if you want to make good money...GET OUT OF RADIO! lol...it doesn't pay well, deal with it.
i guess that's about it for now. i'm housesitting for a friend for a week starting this weekend. that should be good. big screen tv, satalite dish...nice stereo...and a comp with the net...yeah, i think i'll do well...lol
