For those of you curious about my choice of picture...
I deleted a cute image of a character I like (see the comment below)
This is Osaka, my namesake. She is such a ditz in the show she comes from (Azumanga Daioh), but she's a space case in much the same way I was, so I feel a special sort of connection with her character.
The first time she appears, there's a scene where she's sitting in class thinking to herself:
"In my last school I was never paying attention in class, but I'm starting fresh here, and I can turn over a new leaf, so I've got to pull myself together"

Teacher: "Osaka, are you paying attention?"
Osaka: "Sorry, teacher"
thinking: "pull yourself together, pull yourself together"
That was me. I'd sometimes get so wrapped up in what I was trying to do that I wouldn't just stop thinking about it and do it. *shrug* Oh well. I'm hardly as bad as I was as a kid, but I still can get trapped in my own thoughts sometimes... Then again, that can be a blessing sometimes, since often having the thoughts bouncing around like that will jostle something into place, if I'm making any sense.
ANYWAY, I'm off to do a load of laundry, get my hair cut, and other mundane things.
