Patting myself on the back
In the course of the past month-plus-a-week-or-two, I have accomplished the following work for the Nexus system LARP database:
1) Full rewrites of the Strawhat crew and a half-dozen important side characters from One Piece, as well as the creation of several new series-specific item cards for Usopp and Brook. Highlights: Nami's Clima-Tact, "Cola Points" system for Franky, Usopp got downright godly upgrades.
2) Full rewrite of Sailor Saturn and adding abilities to the other Senshi from Sailor Moon. Highlights: Sailor Pluto is a tactical anti Dio Brando nuke, Sailor Saturn can now do everything she always should have been able to do.
3) Full rewrite of basic rules systems for Pokemon, resulting in getting the capturing rules and Pokemon writeups off the character sheets and onto item cards, thus freeing up space for lots more character-specific powers. Highlights: Brock is immune to the Geass (BWAHHAHAHAHHAHHH), and Team Rocket is better than ever with Blasting Off Again and Team Rocket motto powers.
4) Large-scale revision of Shugo Chara, including Chara Transformations and rules for Utau's ability to steal and purify heart's eggs. Highlights: All-around good stuff here with new fun things for everyone.
5) Final revision of Negima, resulting in more skill writeups for characters who needed them, and new skills for Negi and Evangeline to replace the spells that came off their sheets to become item cards. Highlights: A few new spells for Negi since there's no space constraints anymore, and a couple of upgrades here and there for other characters.
6) This is longer-term and I started it before, but I also finished a straight numbers review for stats and skills of every character from every series in the databse I've ever seen, changing things here and there for cross-series uniformity. Highlights: Implementing the effects of our new Authority scale resulted in some fun things, like 98% of the cast of Loki Ragnarok now having Authority 5 (Divine).
I have been a busy little bee this month. I'm going to crank out a few more item cards from One Piece and Negima tonight, and then I intend to take a well-deserved and much-needed hiatus from working on LARP stuff for about a week or two (because let's be honest, I can't stay away from this for long). And then it's on to adding more One Piece characters to the database, and probably working on new Pokemans. :)
