Once again, SBS proves how it is far superior to all other channels...
Dr Tatiana's Sex Guide to All Creation - Part 1 - The Trouble With Sex (60 mins , Rated: M)
Genre: Documentary
This new three-part series is the definitive and original guide to the evolutionary biology of sex. It explores the science of sex, considering everything from why females of so many species are so promiscuous to why sex exists at all. The series has been adapted from biologist Olivia Judson's bestselling book of the same name. In it, Judson assumed the persona of Dr Tatiana, a witty sex advice columnist. This program is an all-singing, all-dancing musical with 14 original songs, including the hermaphrodite song and the female promiscuity song. Judson interviews scientists, chases wild banana slugs and elephant seals, dispenses sex advice in her clinic and conducts a Jerry Springer-style TV show. Part one examines the female button beetle that mates with her son and then eats him. The program also looks at how some male mites copulate with their sisters inside their mother's womb. This first episode also features interviews with Dan Fessler, an anthropologist at UCLA, and Janet Leonard, a banana slug expert at the University of Santa Cruz.
...There are even people dressed up as animals, singing. What more could you want?!
