Chapter 13

Vulcan

The small transport ship had slowly entered orbit around the orange-red planet and was now beginning to make its way down through the thin atmosphere towards its destination, the central shuttle hub just on the outskirts of the city of Shi’Kahr. Spock and Surat had reached Vulcan.

As they sat waiting for the ship to land, Spock ruminated on the journey that was bringing both he and Surat home. The journey transport-wise had been wholly uneventful, this was the regular run between Vulcan and Earth for the transport and most of the passengers were Vulcans with the rest being a smattering of Human, Andorian and Denobulan, a collection of Embassy workers and scientists heading for the Vulcan Science Academy or in some cases home. Surat had obtained one of the small family rooms for them to share for the journey and while it only contained two small bunks and a firepot for meditation, it had afforded them the privacy they needed and Spock had been grateful for that. The journey otherwise was something that Spock had never envisioned happening, he and Uhura had shared themselves through the bond that was forming between them, a bond that if Spock was being honest with himself, was an incredible feeling.  He had been concerned when she had activated the transporter device, even more so when he realized that she was not alone and that it was Cadet Kirk that was with her! She had assured him that she was ok and that she could take care of the situation between herself and Kirk. He hadn’t meant to eavesdrop when she was speaking with Kirk, and he knew that Uhura was uncomfortable, she really didn’t want to lie to Kirk about anything and she felt that it was unfair too. After all Kirk was the one who had warned her, she had ended up giving a non-explanation to Kirk and allowing him no room to question her further. Spock could feel by Uhura’s response that Kirk hadn’t been happy with her replies but seemed to have accepted it for the moment. Spock could also feel how tired Uhura was, it kept slipping through and it had been almost instinctive to want to be with her. He had felt Uhura start to enter REM sleep and he himself had finally been able to meditate and had just reached out to her, first just observing. Her joy at being home in her dream, her awe and delight at the Vulcan he portrayed in his mind to her, it couldn’t help but to strengthen the bond. What had happened next between them was beyond his comprehension, he had no words for it...it was simply Spock and Nyota. He curiously felt no shame from having shared himself mentally in such a manner; she certainly hadn’t pulled back and in fact had been delighted which in turn had fueled him.  Spock sat back feeling the transport’s thrusters as they made their final descent. Uhura’s color in the back of his mind was a glorious riot of rich reds and oranges paling out to lilac and, Spock thought fancifully, the color of a Vulcan sunset.

Spock had not realized the extent of the mental void within himself until Uhura’s presence had started to fill it, had not realized that it could be so, and that she was willing to be part of him and have him be part of her. It had never been this way with T’Pring. He had never felt her within him on any level; he had felt nothing on the rare occasion that he and T’Pring had conversed, six times to be exact since their bonding ceremony.  Twice in person and four times through sub-space communication. Though now looking back on both the physical visits and the communications, Spock could remember that he thought that T’Pring was unusually close to her mother; Spock’s own mother Amanda would have called it smothering and clingy. During all those times, T’Pana, T’Pring’s mother had been there right at her daughter’s side, and it had made conversation extremely difficult, in the end Spock had retreated.  He had not spoken with T’Pring since he had accepted teaching at the academy which was almost three years ago. And now to be coming home under these circumstances, the pieces were slowly starting to fit into place. Could he hold T’Pring responsible for her actions? Should he? He and Surat had discussed at length the probability that he had been ‘seeded’ at his bonding ceremony; it made the most logical sense when weighed up with Spock’s meditation lapses and other incidents. And if Spock was a victim, did that not make T’Pring a victim too? She had only been a child, relying on her parents as Spock did his. What part did T’Pana and Sokal play in this? T’Pring was their child.

The soft bump of the landing gear of the ship signaled that they had landed and Spock and Surat waited until the announcement chimed that all passengers could unbuckle and start disembarking, before they unbuckled the safety netting holding them in their seats and stood up. They made their way quietly towards the exit door and walked through onto the stone landing strip, the heat already starting to rise even though it was only mid-morning and the heat haze making the city shimmer in front of them. They were making their way to the baggage unloading area to collect their belongings, walking with the other passengers around them, when Surat motioned quietly to his left, Spock glanced over noticing the three Vulcans garbed in the robes of the medical personnel of the Vulcan Science Academy watching them.

“It should of course be no surprise that they are waiting for us.” Surat said, a trace of sarcasm coloring his tone.

“Indeed.” Spock stated quietly. “The Vulcan Science Academy I am sure has been informed of my ‘illness’, this will not be the first time I have been ‘examined’ by their medical personnel.”

“We will not be going with them Spock. Other arrangements have been made.” Surat stated equally quietly and then before Spock could reply he made his way over to the three Vulcans. Spock followed him.

“Counselor Slivak.” Surat’s hand came up into the ta’al shape, fingers spread in the Vulcan greeting as he formally greeted Slivak, the oldest of the three. Slivak’s own hand came up as he returned Surat’s greeting and then turned to Spock who also greeted him in the same manner. Surat stared straight at Slivak ignoring the other two Vulcans for the time being.

“Counselor Surat, the Embassy informed us that you and the Ambassador’s son.” Slivak tilted his towards Spock, “Would be arriving at Vulcan today, arrangements have been made…”

Surat interrupted him. “Forgive me Counselor Slivak, but the arrangements for Spock and me have already been made through Ambassador Sarek’s office. It is only logical that Spock’s family having been apprised of his illness.” Surat emphasized the word and continued. “That, they will of course wish to consult with their own healers first. I believe after that has occurred then Spock and his family will agree to attend any appointments set for Spock by the Science Academy.”

Slivak moved closer to Spock and Surat, and though his expression did not change, Spock believed that he had been annoyed by Surat’s response. The two younger Vulcans also moved closer but said nothing.

“Counselor Surat, with all due respect to Spock and Ambassador Sarek, the nature of Spock’s illness is such that we believe it absolutely imperative that he be admitted to the medical facilities at the Science Academy.” At this Slivak lowered his voice. “There have been incidents caused by those with Bendii Syndrome and we do not want safety to be an issue amongst our general populace. It is a logical precaution.”

“Counselor Slivak.” This time it was Spock’s voice that interjected. “I understand that safety is your primary goal, however, a definitive diagnosis for Bendii Syndrome has not been made as of yet. I am not traveling alone and there has been no record of any problems while I traveled. Counselor Surat is correct; I will have no objection to seeking assistance at the Science Academy after I have consulted with my family and healers. As a citizen of Vulcan whether I have Bendii Syndrome or not, I have the right to medical consultation outside of the Science Academy’s jurisdiction.”

With that Spock turned to Surat, nodded and turned to find his bags. Surat stared at Slivak and then encompassed the other two Vulcans in that stare. His body language was clear; they would not be able to take Spock without causing a disturbance. Slivak motioned to one of the younger Vulcan’s and spoke.

“Tevan, please inform the Science Academy security that they are needed at the main shuttle hub, docking station 6.”

Tevan nodded and bowed to Slivak before making his way through the people moving back and forth through the hub. Surat lost sight of him through the crowd; he sighed and shook his head slightly, there was nothing more to say.  Spock returned not only with his own luggage, but also with Surat’s. Surat informed him of Slivak’s plan since it was clear that Slivak wouldn’t allow them free access to the shuttle hub or the ability to notify anyone either. Surat gave another tiny sigh and kept his sights on the two Vulcans. He could feel Spock next to him also trying to appraise their situation. Stalemate. It was Spock who finally broke the tense silence. He made eye contact with Surat and gestured towards four figures rapidly making their way towards them, the markings on their tunics clearly identifying them as members of the S’chn T’gai clan, Spock’s clan.

“I believe Counselor Surat that our ‘other arrangements’ have now come to fruition. Counselor Slivak we will take our leave of you now.”  Spock bowed to the two Vulcans in front of him and turned as the four newcomers approached them.  He could feel Surat beside him do the same and for a moment he imagined he heard Surat give a derisive snort. Counselor Slivak certainly now did not appear happy and in fact looked like he was about to speak again, he was ignored.

The first of the newcomers approached Spock and bowed and then brought his hand up in greeting. He was a big man, taller than Spock and of stocky build, his silver-grey hair cut very short against his skull. He was formidable; Spock knew that from personal experience. His name was Tikal and he had been part of the clan’s private security detail since Spock’s own father Sarek had been a boy. There was now no further discussion of detaining Spock or Surat and they were allowed to make their way with the four other Vulcans to the private shuttle that would take them to Spock’s family dwelling.

As the shuttle made its way through the city to the outskirts where Spock’s home lay, Spock glanced over at his companion. They were alone in this part of the shuttle. Surat was staring out of the window, a pensive expression on his face.

“You have not been back to Vulcan for quite some time.” Spock’s head tilted towards Surat.

“No. I do not…” Surat shifted slightly in his seat. “I do not always find it comfortable. A few know of my status as V’tosh Ka’tur here. For most they are merely rumors they have overheard. I am not as vocal as most of my compatriots, for obvious reasons.”

“Your line of work?”

“I certainly cannot advertize the other aspect of my work. On Vulcan my official capacity is that of a Counselor working for the Embassy on Earth. My other commitment, the one to Starfleet is of course, less known. But being able to access my emotions has been an asset in some instances.”

“But can it not also be a hindrance in others?” Spock’s eyebrow was slightly raised.

“Indeed.” Surat nodded. “A double-edged sword as the humans would say.”

They were silent for a moment and then Spock spoke again.

“You do not like Counselor Slivak.” He observed.

Surat crinkled his nose and gave a snort. “He is pompous and overbearing. Much like his brother Elder Counselor Shutek is.”

“Yes, indeed.” Spock remembered Shutek. Could remember his words that day ringing out at Spock, the day that Spock had refused his admission to the Vulcan Science Academy. “It is truly remarkable Spock that you have achieved so much, despite your disadvantage.” Those words still sat low and deep within Spock. His disadvantage. His human side, his mother Amanda.

“You were not V’tosh Ka’tur when you worked for my father?”

“No, my beliefs formed later. At the time I starting working for your father I did not appreciate the valuable lessons I would learn there. When I was first assigned as one of his attaché’s, I viewed it as a failing on my part.”

“Because of his marriage to my mother?” Spock’s voice was low. “I remember you voiced your disapproval to my father many times during your initial assignment.”

“Yes, I felt at that time that your father was weak, that because of his choice of partner, his policies and views were not that of a completely sound mind. I could not comprehend why a Vulcan such as your father and from such a prominent family would be a partner with one so emotional, so different. I believed that it hurt Vulcan interests and dealings with other Federation resources. It wasn’t until I had started to work with Sarek and then started to interact with your mother that my views started to change. Your father embraces Surak’s philosophy of IDIC. His choice of your mother as his bond-mate and partner is logical.” Surat smiled.

Spock turned away. His father had stated that before to him as a child, that marrying his mother had been a logical decision. It had never sat well with Spock, but he couldn’t voice as to why. He turned himself inwards mentally and felt along the bond reaching out to the warm colors and mental hum of Uhura. He reached out and felt her mental embrace giving reassurance; it soothed and calmed him. He was able to focus outwardly again just in time to feel the shuttle slow as they approached the large dwelling nestled up against the stony outcropping. Spock was home.

Starfleet Academy - San Francisco

It had been a fairly quiet day in class for Uhura. She and Kirk had been brought back from Portland via shuttle two days ago and had been debriefed on their way back to the academy by Prem and two Starfleet Ops support personnel. Her debriefing had really only amounted to Prem making sure she was alright. She and Prem had sat facing Kirk and the other two people, one Lieutenant Samuel Markson and one Lieutenant J.G. Galvas Mura, a deceptively delicate looking Andorian. Kirk had been clearly unhappy with what was being said and asked of him and his eyes had kept flicking up to meet hers, his face scowling. He had rocked back in forth slightly in his seat, shaking his head now and then. Uhura knew that while he had agreed to back off, Kirk really wasn’t the type to just let it go. It was just really going to be a matter of time in how it manifested itself.

She sighed, now it was two days later and everything was pretty much back to normal. Well almost everything. Spock’s presence now was a muted hum in her mind’s background, always there. And the bond continued to grow in strength. And what had happened between them, well amazing just didn’t cut it. Uhura chuckled to herself. Could what she and Spock had done constitute as a sex act? Gaila most likely would say yes, in fact Gaila would probably say it gave new definition to the term mind-blowing! Uhura sighed again and leaned back in her seat.

*Nyota.* Spock’s mind voice was a whisper and she focused on it feeling it gain substance within her mind. She smiled, he had arrived on Vulcan.

*Spock, are you ok? You are now on Vulcan, I can feel the difference within you*

*Indeed? I have tried to quiet my side of the bond, but you have picked up on that fact, most curious.* His mental voice warmed her.

*What can I say, I am extremely intuitive.* She mentally smirked at him.

*Among other things.* The mental image he pushed at her flowed over her like a caress and she felt herself blush.

*You are a bad Vulcan.* She mentally grinned and embraced him. *Behave now, otherwise I won’t let you enter my dreams in the near future.*

*That I believe would be tragic for both of us.* It actually felt like fingers caressing the side of her face as he mentally spoke. *I must go now.* He started to draw back and Uhura wrapped herself around him once more before he left.

*I love you Spock, we will get to the bottom of this, never you fear.*

*T’hy’la.* He whispered back and the mental hum faded back into Uhura’s mental background.

Shi’Kahr - Vulcan

The shuttle pulled up in front of the gates of Spock’s home. Tikal and the others got out and opened the shuttle doors. Spock and Surat got out and walked through the gates towards the door of the home. Before Spock could put his hand on the touch plate the door opened and a small figure stepped out, her face wreathed in smiles. Dark eyes like his own looked up into his face.

“Mother.” Spock nodded his head as Amanda’s hand come up to cup the side of his face. He accepted the touch knowing that Amanda was reigning in the urge to actually hug her son, publicly no less.

“Spock! Let me look at you.” Amanda eyed him up and down and then grinned as his eyebrow rose. “Surat, it’s a pleasure to see you again, it’s been far too long!”

Surat bowed deeply. “T’Sai Amanda. It is indeed agreeable to see you as well.”

Amanda smiled. “Well let’s not stand on ceremony, come in both of you.” She led them into the hallway. “Spock, you will be in your old room, no change there. Surat let me show you to our guest room. I imagine you both want to freshen up. Come into the parlor when you’re done. I’m sure you both remember where it is.”

“Mother you know Vulcans have excellent memory and recall. Surat and I both know where the parlor is.” Spock said.

“Don’t sass your mother; you know that’s not respectful especially not in front of our guest young man!” Amanda smiled to take the sting out of her words.

Spock knew that she was using humor to mask her fear. Both Amanda and Sarek had been informed by the Embassy healer that their son could be very sick. Spock had wanted to wait until he was on Vulcan before going into depth on what truly was happening to him. Amanda had taken Surat to their guest room and Spock made his way to the back of the house and to his own room. It had changed little since his last visit two years ago, though there were more of his childhood belongings on the shelves than that last time. It was strange, he had always remembered his room as being quite stark with minimal decoration and yet clearly that wasn’t the case. He sat heavily on the bed and closed his eyes. A soft sound alerted him to his mother’s presence.

“Spock?” Amanda knelt in front of him. She lightly touched his hands. “Oh Spock…I…” Spock watched her eyes shimmer with tears, watched as she swallowed and made a visible effort to control. “We will get through this, no matter what Spock; you have our support, whatever help you need you have it, you know that.”

Spock turned his hands in hers, warm fingers grasping her cooler ones as he lightly squeezed them. “I know I have your support mother, as I’ve always had. As for Sarek’s…” Spock trailed off. The relationship he shared with his father was a tumultuous one, especially after Spock’s refusal to attend the Vulcan Science Academy, opting instead for admission into Starfleet. Sarek had been quite vocal in his disapproval of his son’s choice, and their interactions now were awkward to say the least.

“Spock! Despite how it appears your father does support you. He cares Spock and he loves you.” Amanda shook her head before Spock could comment. “We all can make mistakes, with you two it’s just sheer stubbornness, and you’re more alike than you think. Give him a chance Spock.”

Spock did not respond and Amanda sighed quietly, a sad soft sound. “Do you need time alone, or do you want to come to the parlor for some tea?”

“I think I would like to stay here and meditate for a little while Mother.” Spock squeezed her hands again. “I will talk with you and Sarek once I am finished if that is acceptable.”

“Of course it’s acceptable Spock. We’re your parents, we are here for you.” Amanda stood and made her way out of the room leaving Spock alone again.

**************

Forty-five minutes later Spock made his way to the other end of the house. He could hear his mother’s voice blending with Surat’s and the deep resonant tones of his father. They were in the room his mother affectionately called her parlor, a room set off from the kitchen and decorated with a decidedly Earth-like feel. They were all seated around the warm oak table that had been in Amanda’s family for years and Spock noted the large squat earthenware teapot sitting pride of place in the middle surrounded incongruously by Amanda’s dainty china tea cups. Spock looked at his father; in the two years since he had been home Sarek had aged.   Grooves furrowed between his brows and there were tension lines around his mouth that had not been there two years ago. Give him a chance Spock.  Amanda’s words echoed within him. Sarek stood and greeted his son; Spock returned the greeting and then sat down opposite his father. Sarek cleared his throat and then spoke, his dark eyes never leaving Spock’s face.

“Our healer Sinal has been notified to attend to you Spock and your grandmother T’Pau has been informed as it should be within the family. Any findings of Sinal’s will be presented to the Vulcan Science Academy. We will then proceed after that.”

“Agreed Father.” Spock said. He looked over at Surat. It was now time to tell Sarek and Amanda everything. “However, before any information is given to the Academy, there is something I must tell you and mother first…”

Starfleet Academy - San Francisco

“Damn it Uhura!” Kirk’s voice hissed out through gritted teeth. “I don’t like it. I told you I don’t like this cloak and dagger shit! I just want to know the truth!”

Uhura sighed, she had almost made it to the girl’s dorm, had just in fact gotten the door opened and had just been about to slide in through it when she had been ambushed by Kirk and another cadet, an older man whose handsome face always seemed to be set in a semi-scowl, he had apparently been trying to tug Kirk away. Uhura wracked her brains for his name, remembering that Kirk never used it; Kirk used a nick-name instead. Bones? That sounded right. From there Uhura made the mental leap hearing Gaila’s voice in her head from one of their bar hopping nights, sing-songing…Lonely Bonesy..lonely Lenny..That was it, Leonard. Leonard ‘Bones’ McCoy, long suffering friend to one Cadet James T. Kirk. He was on the medical track if Uhura remembered rightly, already a doctor but still having to go through the hoops for Starfleet.

“Kirk, I told you. I have no information I can give you. Special Ops spoke with you. I know less than them. You need to leave it alone.”

Kirk moved closer to her, his blue eyes blazed. “I can’t leave it alone. Those Special Ops goons didn’t say a fucking thing, just a bunch of bullshit. How safe do you feel right now Uhura? How safe are those around you huh? Do you know?” He was right in her face now. McCoy pulled him back.

“Jesus Jim! Back the hell off of her ok?” McCoy looked at Uhura and shook his head sadly. “Come on Jimmy, you gotta let this go. It ain’t right but sometimes you just can’t be in control, you can’t.” McCoy’s southern drawl softened. “Look Jim, what say you and me go back to our room, get all prettied up and head out. You pick the watering hole and hell I’ll even buy, all the rounds on me tonight ok?” McCoy tugged Kirk’s arm gently pulling him back and away from Uhura. “Now step aside and let this lovely lady get inside.” He was all southern charm now.

Kirk grumbled but started to follow McCoy, Uhura heard him mutter. “It’s just not right Bones, I mean what if something happens to her? Or to Gaila? It’s just bullshit…”

“I know Jim, I know. But you can’t just damn well waltz in every time and be the big I am hero you know.” McCoy’s voice was soft, affection clear in his tone.

Uhura stood and watched them walk away, Kirk’s mutters fading in the distance. She thought about what Kirk had said to McCoy, he’d been concerned about her and about Gaila. He’d been concerned about those around her, but he hadn’t mentioned once about being concerned about himself. Maybe she needed to rethink her attitude regarding Kirk.

She spoke softly to herself. “You know what Kirk? If I could, I think I would tell you the truth.” With that Uhura opened the dorm entrance door and stepped inside.

Shi’Kahr - Vulcan

They sat silently in shock. Spock looked first at his father, Sarek’s features were slack and his shoulders drooped as if a heavy weight was upon them. His breathing was shallow. Spock then looked over at his mother watching as tears poured down Amanda’s face wetting the high collar of her dress. Her breathing too was shallow like Sarek’s and she hiccupped as another sob shook her small frame.  Her hands clutched Sarek’s, her knuckles white. Spock glanced over at Surat whose head was now bowed, a frown on his face.

“The High Council knows of this?” Sarek’s voice was soft, softer than Spock had ever heard. Spock knew his father was trying to keep emotion from seeping through. Surat answered him.

“Yes Ambassador, they do.” Surat’s voice was also soft. “Vulcan is trying to keep knowledge of these ‘seeded’ ones from becoming public. We do not know how it would affect Vulcan standing within the Federation. Only select operatives within Starfleet Intelligence and Special Operations know at this time.”

“But you said that these attacks had also been on other planets?” Amanda’s voice broke. “Surely Vulcan didn’t institute those attacks did it?”

“No my lady, It didn’t. But Vulcan is in a difficult position. We have had to rebuild our image after the Romulan attack of the U.S.S. Kelvin, the fact that we have more in common with an enemy of the Federation is obviously to our detriment. ‘Kissing cousins’ is the earth term I’ve heard used to describe the relationship between Vulcans and Romulans. Also our standing with other Federation members is strained. We are not trusted like we once were. Our credibility has been hurt badly. Even though these attacks have taken place on other worlds, Vulcan will be the one put into a bad light. We cannot risk that.”

“And this…this ‘seeding’ happened during Spock’s bonding to T’Pring?” Amanda’s eyes were now trained on Spock. Spock watched Sarek visibly wince at her words.

“In Spock’s case, yes we believe so. We are not certain of the procedure itself, but we do know that alien technology is used to create a link in which a subject, a person, is controlled with there being no conscious thought on that subject’s part. The link would most likely have been created between Spock and T’Pring during their bonding ceremony. What little knowledge we have of this technology is that it can be used to augment certain abilities, telepathic abilities. T’Pring is like a transmitter, she is able to transmit commands to Spock, who in turn complies with the request without being aware. If you both remember those incidents in Spock’s young adulthood, his mental lapses, those ‘incidents’ follow him even now into the present. I believe that we can safely say those were times of transmission to Spock. We know that this technology did not originate on Vulcan. We are currently making headway into their origins.” Surat stopped and looked over at Spock, Spock nodded his consent and Surat continued. “While this transmission link was created between T’Pring and Spock, there was no formal betrothal bond formed. For some reason it wasn’t able to form. I melded with Spock after his appointment with the healer at the Embassy and could find no trace of a bond with T’Pring.”

“There was no bond with T’Pring?” Sarek looked stricken. It had been his decision to bond Spock to T’Pring.

“No father, I have never felt T’Pring’s presence in my thoughts. I tried to look for her there, but it was always a void.” Spock shuddered slightly remembering the nothingness that was there before, that part that was now filled with the warmth and love of Uhura.

“Oh Spock! Oh my poor baby!” Amanda was crying again.

“There is more mother.” Spock took a deep breath. He looked over at Surat. This was his place to tell his parents. They looked at him now, two sets of pain filled eyes on him. “I had more of these incidents while at Starfleet Academy. One of those incidents required hospitalization, a healer came to me in the hospital, but I did not want you to be informed. I did not want you to worry.” Spock’s eyes locked with his mother’s. “A good friend helped me; she found me and called for medical assistance. She is a cadet in Starfleet, a brilliant student, her name is Nyota Uhura and she is a xenolinguist like yourself mother. She was at one time my teaching assistant. I have developed feelings for her.” Spock now turned his gaze to his father. “I have always found it difficult to make friends. To be accepted as myself. This is still true, but Nyota accepts me with no reservation.” Spock blinked and looked away, he took another deep breath.

“There is more Spock, speak your mind.”

“Father, my emotional commitment to her is deep, there are no words…none are needed between us. A bond is forming; she is part of me and me, her. I do not know how it came to be, but the void within me is no longer. Nyota is there now, she is the other half of my Katra, my essence.”

Surat cleared his throat “Ambassador Sarek, my lady Amanda. We must act quickly, as you now know more is at stake.  There is not only Spock but his bond-mate to now consider as well. The faction that T’Pring is part of is no doubt aware that Spock is now on Vulcan. We do not know what that will bring. Since T’Pring was also a child when this link was established, I believe that she should not be held accountable. She can be considered as much a victim as Spock. We need to find out what her parents involvement is in all of this. While I agree that your family healer should examine Spock, I am of the opinion that he too will have the same results as those of the Embassy healer.”

“You have more options Surat? I remember that look well when you were my attaché.” Sarek’s voice was returning to its normal cadence.

“Yes indeed Ambassador. There is a healer I know; she is equipped with a unique ability. She maybe able to help in this matter.” Surat turned to Spock. “With your permission Spock, I would like her to examine you.”

“Of course Surat.” Spock nodded gratefully.

“Before I make the arrangements, I should inform you. The healer T’Ceya is V’tosh Ka’tur, as am I...”

TBC…..
