help, it's everyone's birthday!

we've had 4 birthdays in the past week here on the ship, and i am finding it difficult -- is it really possible to party too much? oh wait, this is my job.

anyway, there have been about 2 kids onboard lately, and i have to say, at times i miss the crazy summer. high season is coming up soon, with thanksgiving and christmas, but for now -- we had 0 kids in program last night, and 2 this morning. it's difficult to fill the space... the kids' korner is so clean, everything's been updated and highlighted and renewed, and i am aiming to be the phase 10 champion of the world! because i'm already the skip-bo champion of the world.

so things are going along just swimmingly. the realization that i'll be onboard for thanksgiving, christmas, and new year's is starting to creep up on me. weird! i've never been away from home for the holidays before. and two of my best friends onboard are leaving in the next few weeks, which sucks! everyone, come on a christmas cruise!

it's practical joke central around here at the moment -- big plans are going down which i am not at liberty to discuss just yet... you never know who may be watching. :-) needless to say, it's going to be fun. the originator of the practical joke war is the cruise director, jimmy. well, to be honest, other people started with him. but i was on vacation at the time -- what happened was, we have this skit that we do called "fountains." it's basically what it sounds like, with people in togas pretending to be fountains and spitting water on one another. it's pretty hilarious -- everyone loves it. so one week, while i was gone, the rest of the group decided to smurf jimmy by putting blue food coloring in everyone's water except his, so by the end of the show, he was coated in it. jimmy's retaliation was diluted raspberry syrup, which was horrible and disgusting and took about an hour to wash out of my hair. not to mention the stage -- the dancers couldn't pirouette and were quite frustrated. but they're always complaining. anyway, we didn't get him back last week, but he said we could do our worst, so... we will. friday, it's on. i actually just got back from a lunch meeting with everyone in "fountains" so that we could plot against jimmy. it's gonna be good!

in conclusion, i can't hear myself think because some of the deck guys are drilling and shouting. apparently we needed this boat drill cupboard over there. whatever.
