ASOIAF AU drabble series - #1

A project LE and I have spawned. Feminist-ish AU A Song of Ice and Fire drabbles to thumb our noses at GRRM.

My first offering, from the early history of the Dragonkings, and what would have been the original Dance of the Dragons. Quite silly.

They will call me Kingmaker, thought Ser Criston Cole as he stared her down in the courtyard. Targaryen eyes had never discomfited him the way they did others, and Rhaenyra’s were a cool lilac, indifferent, lacking the fire of her brother’s.

“I’m sorry, Princess. It’s Andal tradition. The Seven Kingdoms would never accept a ruling queen. The strife you would cause would cost you your life.”

“I understand, Ser,” Rhaenyra answered gravely. “In Valyria we had traditions as well.” With one hand she gestured, and a shadow fell over Criston. “Vhagar, dracarys.”

They called him Ser Criston the Crispy Fried.

*I gave her dragon the same name as Visenya's, but the original Vhagar was likely dead at this point. Just fer the record.
