I have spindle in hand!
(well, not right this second, of course)....but here are spindle and some commercial roving, to learn on:

well...I'm getting things twisted, anyway. Think I need to check out some videos...
Oh, and I combed out some of the llama, after it dried - was going to do some more combing today but it is raining - and between all the plant matter and bits of fluff, combing is really an outdoor activity. Comes out nice and fluffy:
but judging from the roving I am going to need to get a set of carders, to get all the fibers nicelly aligned. This free wool is turning out a bit like a free kitten - surprisingly expensive. But most of the steps are rather meditative (which is not true of a kitten, free or not).
