this morning the vice president my manager reports to sat down and chatted with me about my workload. she remembered that i had complained a few weeks ago that i wasn't being given enough work and asked me if i were willing to take on a new project.
new project: plan her new year's eve vacation.
i've found through dealing directly with her and through talking with her past and current assistants that she can't make or do anything for herself. phone calls go straight to the assistant. e-mails directly to her are automatically bounced right to the assistant. voicemail? forget it. her assistant takes them. interesting lady indeed. i'm not complaining, though, since my research for her has woken the wanderlust in me again.
for her i've decided either venice or buenos aires. for myself, i've decided venice again. this is me at my most idealistic. perhaps i can get my greencard replaced by december, perhaps i can save up enough money to stay for a week or two in la serenissimma. quien se sabe?
then an old acquaintance from barcelona sends me a link to his semester pictures. and here i go down memory lane again...
