i've been failing in my attempts at the 101 in 1001 thing. or at least, keeping others updated as to how i'm doing.
i bought dookie. finally. what a fabulous album. about time i actually owned it.
i also applied for and received a credit card. woohoo. for gas and purchases over one hundred dollars only. the first of which was today, buying a snorkel and mask for my future scuba diving/snorkeling trips.
the list of places we're going to go is ridiculously long. the certification still needs to happen first though.
and since i already have a bartending job that means i don't need to go to bartending school so i think that can be crossed off too. now that i have that recommendation.
this summer has been flying by. i don't want it to end. i want time to stop and let me lie on the beach and ride my bike all the time.
at the same time (and i don't mean to sound as if i was complaining about my internship because i don't mean to - i absolutely love it and am so thankful for the opportunities it has given me) this internship has made me realize a lot of things that i don't want my future to be.
i suppose learning that is just as critical as loving every minute.
days are monotonous. same thing day in and day out. i don't handle monotony well. when things begin to get repetitive. its this situation where i go in every day and do the same thing. sure, a few little things might change, but theres animal care in the tank room, collecting eggs, counting eggs, behavior tests, fluming, data entry, larvae measurements, isolating and recombination -
every.
single.
day.
and its interesting. really. it really is interesting and i like learning about it and doing it.
but i need something to spice it up. i need something different.
i need to be out on a boat on the ocean or on the beach collecting samples, doing observations, getting data in the actual field and not in some lab.
