So today is the Special Election in the 5th Congressional District to take over the Congressional seat of now Obama Chief-of-Staff Rahm Emanuel. I have been working for John Fritchey since September, and have been on his Campaign Staff since January 5th. This is my 57th straight day of work, pulling 12-16 hour days.
I wouldn't be working this hard for someone if I didn't believe in what they have accomplished in Illinois, and what they will accomplish in Washington. If you do live in the 5th Congressional District (Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Ravenswood, Lincoln Square, Albany Park, the Western Cook County suburbs, etc.) please get out and vote today. Your support is so important in a low turnout election like this.
As for me now? I'm sitting in the campaign office being the office liaison, waiting for the phone to ring with questions and poll results. It is safe to say that no matter what happens in the next 5 hours and 15 minutes, my life is most likely going to completely change.
Tonight I will be one of the best nights of my life. Even if the outcome is not what is desired, I will be glad that I got to experience this amazing, competitive race. We exceeded our goals, and that is all I can ask for.
