i wanna just fall in love.
Eunsook didn't know when her tiny fangirl crush had grown into something like this. He was her eye candy, someone who she fawned and spazzed over in the hallways. He was there to distract her from Minho and his girlfriend. But just like cherry blossoms in spring, her tiny infatuation for the pretty boy at locker C-284 had flowered into something big and beautiful without Eunsook knowing.
-
For weeks, Eunsook had only stared at his retreating back and longed for him to turn around. Though the times that he did, she would panic and turn the other way, too scared to look him in the eye. Weeks turned into months and it was a mystery to her circle of friends that even though Minjung and Junghee knew Kim Kibum and were really good friends, why haven't Eunsook and him talked before. Eunsook cursed the schedules they were put in and that she and Kibum didn't have even one class together.
-
The first one she told was her best friend, Minjung, who was in the same homeroom as him (she's totally jelly). Minjung often teased her about her missing chances and like, Eunsook, he's right there! It wasn't her fault she was socially awkward and a loser. And that she had really, really bad luck. As you see, Minjung and Kibum are real friendly with one another; they hug each other every single time they see each other in the hallway. Yup, every time Eunsook would pretend to be busy texting or she had just turned and walked away because fate was being a meanie.
-
Kim Kibum had transferred to her school in October and had fit in right away because he was always so fashionably dressed and friendly, he swore out profanities openly and hang out with those of higher status. He was tall and had hair that looked like he came from a high class salon every single morning, while Eunsook's hair was merciless and stuck out everywhere. He had caught the eyes of many and Taeyeon, Gwiboon, and Eunsook often rated people as they passed by in the hall ways and Eunsook had given Kibum a 99 because she was hopelessly biased. Of course, with the flamboyancy and fashion sense he carried around, questions about his sexuality began to float around. Minjung, because she was also a little star struck, showed Eunsook his Formspring, and it was flooded with questions like r u gay? or you faggot (: or yOuR gAy and other offensive comments. Eunsook smiled a little to herself as she scrolled through his answers to them haters; he was friggen fierce. Which brings us to his walk. Every time he walked down the hall way, Taeyeon and her would stifle a grin and then say to each other fierce, because he was.
-
She found out his sexuality from Taeyeon because Junghee was close to him enough to know. It turned out he was bi, and as hard as Eunsook tried, she couldn’t supress the hope bubbling in her chest.
-
Taeyeon had found out when she spazzed through the glass door, mouth opened and finger jabbing at him through the window, where he was conversing with Junghee. Taeyeon went around and laughed, eyes crinkling, as Eunsook freaked because she didn't know Junghee and him were close. Eunsook hugged Taeyeon with all her might, both giggling and spinning around because they were so giddy. Jonghyun passed by and raised an eyebrow when Eunsook squealed out hi!
-
She was heading to class with Minjung after lunch when he came through the door and she didn't even notice him until he hugged Minjung. Eunsook could only stare like the little awkward penguin she was. That was until Kibum said hey and Eunsook's eyes widened and she panicked a little because what, what, WHAT. Maybe it was instinct and she was tired of all these chances slipping away from her fingertips so she stepped out and said, as casually as she could, hey. It was the first time that he had spoken to him and after months of fantasizing about moments like this, it finally happened. (As much as Eunsook tried to deny, he probably knew who she was because she hung out with Minjung all the time. So when her eyes looked at anything but him, he turned to leave even though he was in the middle of saying how are you today?) When he turned away, Eunsook couldn't take it and her legs felt like jelly. She had to hold onto Minjung's arm to keep herself up, and she knew she was smiling hard enough to split her face into two.
She ran out the doors and the snow drizzled onto her and her classmates like frosting on cake. She ran and skipped and yelled because she was so happy. As she sat in French class, reading her book, she replayed the scene over and over in her head. All the words and sentences she read didn't make sense at all because she was still high off his simple hey. Eunsook was not stupid, she knew this was something serious because never in her life, full of crushes and thoughts of boys, had one little hey made her heart soar and beat like a drum. She didn't even feel this way when Minho touched her hand when he reached for her eraser.
-
She put down her book and watched as the snowflakes danced their way to the ground, smiling when the image of his hooded head covered with snow when he came in through the door and his perfect, perfect hey.
