What I did this weekend....XD
I've had quite a fun packed few days so thought I should make a post about it all.
On Friday I went to go and see fern_tree . We wandered around the local shopping center looking for pants as I thought I had forgotten mine, turns out I hadn't, so I now own a lot of cheap ugy underwear which became an even bigger problem when the button on my really tight jeans broke, causing me to have to wear the belt so rediculously tight I couldn't breath or risk giving everyone a view on my underwear everytime I moved/stood up/breathed out.
We had planned to see Pirates of the Carribean but ended up watching X Men, I have only ever watched small parts of X men when it's on the Tv so didn't really have a clue about it and what I had seen I hadn't been really impressed by. But I was willing to give it a try due to dakfinv and culf recomending it for the rediculous amount of slash/ust in it. I really enjoyed it.
The last 10 minutes were a bit weird for me, I got the feeling that if I had watched the other films I would be getting the biggest kick out of all the subtle hints which were just flying right over my head. It was also a bit of a disatisfying ending, not what you expect from modern films where the good guys always win except from here where they all turn evil except the one with a bullet in his back. Obviously the whole struggle between good and evil, the sorting out the effect of these actions and righting wrongs comes in the next films but without that knowledge it was just a bit, oh was that it, wheres all the angst?
However saying that I really loved the film and was into it the whole way and totally ship floppy with angsty (yeah okay I didnt catch their names, I know nothing of this verse). Fern enjoyed it too I think, even if I did keep on forcing her to take the popcorn away from me so I didn't eat it all before the film started, and we played musical chairs quite a lot as we sat in the wrong seats (slightly on purpose) and got moved about 5 times before we gave up and sat in our crappy seats, which weren't that bad even if you had no leg room.
After that we went shopping in sainsburys for food to cook and had a bit of a long wait at the station die to a worker not turning up to work and someone dying on the train - we did briefly wonder if the two were connected XD
We cooked my signature dish of stuffed papaya and dragon fruit salad with passion fruit (a wonderful suggestion from Fern, even if it does look like bogeys it tastes amazing). It all went down really well and we just watched comedy stuff (including CSI:Miami, thats a comedy right? I laugh the whole way through it).
The next day we went to see Fern's end of degree show at her university (UCA). It was really amazing. There were tones of really creative and amazing pieces of artwork and photography. I really liked the glass blowing and some of the geeky paintings like this one:
Ferns degree course was my favourite (ofcourse XD). A really high level of work from all her class mates, I think I watched most of the animations for the whole year and was not bored once, it was really interesting seeing all the different ways people animated and all their personal styles. I loved looking around at the walls they had to decorate with the theme of their animation.

After that we went to her friends house for a BBQ which was nice, and novel to not be the only vegetarian there *limp wristed high five*, got on really well with all her friends which was nice as normally in a big group I get nervy but felt instantly like I belonged. We played a very bad but very violent game of mario kart on the wii. Which I lost despite not having the handycap of the window reflection on my part of the screen which Fern blamed for all her difficulties, don't worry no one believed her or gave her any sympathy XD
We were also joined by a very strange cat who was very keen on the spare rib (of animation tutor) we had but it was the demented Knome trolls of death that got the most attention.
All in all it was a really lovely weekend.
I now have a cold and can't speak or breath through my nose, or sleep and my teeth feel feel like they are going to shatter in my face so have been playing QWOP for roughtly 24 hours non stop now to make me feel better
This may not seem like the most impressive distance ever, but it beat Fern's top score of 54, which has now triggered a QWOPing war between us that is escalating into violence and sillyness via twitter:
