I've recently had the weirdest dream. I dreamt I was watching Beavis and Butthead and Beavis was explaining to Butthead a new music medium: A cartridge that is inserted into a player. The cartridge is the size of a pack of cigarettes and holds the music inside.
This new medium came with its own jargon: The cartridge is referred to as "product," and you don't buy the "product," you "pick it." "For example," Bevis said to Butthead, setting him up for the joke, "if you want to buy the new album by (the band) Sticky Fingers, you'd say you're "picking Sticky."
Not very funny, I know, but the complexity of the dream has stayed with me. It got me thinking, is there really a band named "Sticky Fingers"? According to Wikipedia, the only music entry for "Sticky Fingers" is the Rolling Stones album from 1971. (Maybe he was talking about the rapper,
Sticky Fingaz. But I've never heard of Sticky Fingaz... or has my subconscious?)
