Kneedeep Trailer Park Challenge, 1.3

Sep 23, 2013 00:03

Hi all, I realised I had played quite a bit over the weekend and had enough pics for another update.

In case you don't already know, the Trailer Park Challenge was created by fuzzy_spork and you can find the rules here

If you haven't read the second chapter of my Keedeep Trailer Part Challenge you can find it right here

I know, I know, using the loading image is a plain lazy way of introducing the family. Please accept my sincere apologies.
Quick summery: Alcina is married Peter (nee Sims, now Park). Balor, Chaos and the unborn baby are Peter's offspring, Damian with the red hair is the son of Alcina and Brandon Lilliard. Alegra is the first of the stray dogs to join the Park household.

As we enter the game you'll notice that it's actually still spring, so there is still one more day to go before the Yard Sale can take place.
And remember how Jeff Stallkamp doted on Balor? Well he still does.

No Jeff, at 11:33 on a Monday, Balor attends school. But feel free to pop by and do some cleaning.

You might have noticed in the previous picture that, now we have a dog, I have added the required bigger porch and bought a dog bowl but unfortunately there isn't enough money for a dog bed yet.
Alegra doesn't seem to mind that however, in fact I'd swear it almost looks like she is smiling.

Look! She IS smiling!

In a way I'm glad the Yard Sale wasn't that day. Alcina is heavily pregnant and Balor and Chaos were needing to be taught how to do homework after their first day at school.
I try my best to get the family to greet walk-bys and invite people over whenever possible, because the Parks are social beings and love company. Plus, it's always nice when they autonomously do some cleaning up and helping out with the young ones.

Young David Ottomas seems to have taken a shine to little Damian. He agreed to both give him a bottle and play with him for a bit, when Damian asked him to.

And when Damian got tired, David put him in his cot.
Awww. We can forgive David for being funky-looking when he is being so sweet to a neglected TPC toddler.

In the early hours of the next morning, Alcina gave birth to the challenge's first girl.
I called her Eris, which according to namenerds is the name of the Greek goddess of discord.

Eris has blue eyes and brown hair and looks like any other sim baby so this will possibly be the last picture you see of her until she becomes a toddler.

At 7:00 (nearly, Alcina was a bit slow to get out of bed) Alcina opens the yard for the yearly sale day.
And yes, I have since discovered that those two TVs, which were networking gifts, should not have been sold. I promise I will make up for it by buying two TVs exactly the same and give them away or something non-money making, when I next play the Park family.

Also, Alegra got her dog bed the previous day, when Alcina returned from work in the evening, so she was only without a bed for about half a day. In case you wonder what bed I am talking about, it's that red thing you can just see on the porch.

Townie Tina McAuley has the honor of being the Park family's very first customer.

Sandy Bruty has the honor of being the first "There is so much for sale here, I'm quite overwhelmed!" sim.
Peter was soon booted out of bed to help her out and she very kindly bought a map that Peter had dug up.

First customer, Tina McAuley, makes her way to the till with a blue bag. You're a star customer Tina, do come back soon!

Alegra then took notice of all the people milling around on the lot and started growling at everyone in turn.
Thankfully the customers didn't seem to take notice of her. Silly dog.

Jeff Stallkamp heart-farting Alcina? Hmm... there's an idea.

Soon all the expensive stuff was almost gone and it was time to get the bones and stones out of Peter's inventory.

Brandon was the first and only customer to lose patience and throw his bags on the ground.
"Stones and bones?! Do they think I'm some kind of caveman?!"

I actually thought we would lose that money but when I had Peter clean the bags up, 98 simoleons went into the till.

7pm came round and Alcina turned the sign back to closed, and the Yard Sale was over for this year.
They made about 10.207 simoleons (they were basically skint before the sale started) and the money were spent on... let me see if I can remember... a couple of single beds, an expensive telescope and a roundabout and a some monkey bars for the kids, and a driveway and an old junker.

Oh, and on a smoke alarm, some more windows for the trailer, some new kitchen counters and a picture of the freezer bunny, which both Balor and Chaos seem less than pleased with.

Balor then proceeded to pretend to be trapped in one of the new kitchen counters. He's doing a bloody good job if you ask me.

The next day I decided to have Alcina follow up on the heart-farting from Jeff Stallkamp. They had a date at a community lot and during the date they visited a photo booth. Need I say more?

Now the final of the four required pregnancies is underway and Jeff kindly leaves 55 simoleons on the door step.

All too soon the cute toddler of the house grew up.
Wow, I'm actually surprised how good-looking he is turning out.

Oh yeah, Alcina has been stargazing for a logic point and the astronomy club gave her 500 simoleons, and I think the rules state somewere that when that happens you are required to buy one (or is it two?) flamingo light.
The kids' bedroom has taken on a totally different ambiance.

Later in the evening Peter was woken by an urge to go and help little baby Eris with her birthday.
Yay, another cute toddler to "awww" over.

And we seem to have finally broken the Gemini spell - Eris is Scorpio 9/7/9/3/1.

Not to be outdone on the cuteness, Damian promptly sits down to play peek-a-boo with Eris.

Balor it seems, has no such concerns. He has been outside splashing in Alegra's pee puddle for the last couple of hours and will soon be in danger of flooding the lot.

Next morning, after her omelet, which had been lovingly prepared by her doting husband (Alcina never cooks), the unborn Jeff Stallkamp baby has a sudden growth spurt.

Not 100% sure why I took this picture, but it reminds me that I should say I also bought a doghouse with the Yard Sale money, in preparation for stray dog number 2.
Talking of stray dogs, Tiffany seen at the dog bowl there, comes round almost every day and hangs around for hours. But I remember from a previous time I had a sim adopt her she was really messy and peed everywhere, so I'm reluctant to try and adopt her.

The next morning, a sweet-looking female stray called Babs came by and stayed long enough for Peter to get the option to adopt her.
Welcome to the Park family, Babs. ... ... Kind of a strange name for a dog, isn't it?

No sooner had Babs joined the family than Alegra took up a new hobby of chasing Pao Mellon the Postman.
Peter pretends not to notice as he is busy building up enough relationship points with Meadow so he can invite her over to "play" with Balor and Chaos when they become teens. (heehee)

And so life goes on in the TPC household.
Including an obligatory cute toddler picture of little Eris.

Damian is lamenting the lack of a TV in the house. Perhaps he wants to watch movies with people called "Damian" in? Trust me Damian, you don't.

A couple of days later, Alcina is just after hoping the next week will be better when Jeff Stallkamp's baby decides it's time to make an appearance.
Peter, stop complaining over the mess and help your poor birthing wife.

Ahh, skin #3, brown eyes, blond hair - this one definitely looks like his father.
This is the first generation's last required pregnancy. It's a boy and I named him Felony. Felony Park, how cool does that sound?

Now the household suddenly seems more settled, like the calm before the storm?
Peter wastes no time telling Balor about a delightful brew that comes in a can.

Oh dear. Alegra and Babs are not getting on very well, and I think Alegra is the bad one. I constantly have to get Peter and Alcina to scold Alegra for Hostility towards others, but to no avail it seems.

I'm thinking I might have to give away Alegra, so next time Tiffany came by I had Peter greet her and build some relationship points with her. Just in case.

Nearly missed Balor and Chaos growing up.
Both of them rolled Popularity. Balor wants to become a Hall of Famer, Chaos wants to be a Media Magnate.

Inside the house little Eris grew into a sweet girl who seems to want to chose her own aspiration because the first thing she did after growing up was to...

... gain a truck load of aspiration points from painting her way to a creativity skill point.

The next morning Balor makes his first autonomous meal. Thankfully it was just cereal.
Musical cereal, it would seem.

After school Alcina and Peter had to spend some time getting Balor and Chaos to do their homework. Now they are teens I cannot give them any commands at all.
Really, it's just like RL teens.

Oh those dog pee puddles. Who could have known how many happy hours they would provide for the Park kids?

Chaos seem to be trying to befriend a teen girl with the promise of tasty food. Not sure what food stands he is talking about, I mean, they don't even have a lemonade stand.
Seriously though, the most adventurous food that ever gets served in the Park household is spaghetti bolognese.

"Alcina, what's that sound in coming from the kids' bedroom? Sounds just like someone's birthday."

You're right Peter, it's little Felony's turn to grow up and... Woah that face!
Great mix of both his parents.

Felony is Libra 4/9/4/7/3, in case you wonder.

First thing Balor did, after helping Felony with his birthday, was to give him a bath.
Felony was seemingly not pleased.

Nor did he seem very pleased when I got Eris to teach him a Nursery Rhyme in spite of the fact it's a wish of his.
I'm not actually 100% sure if I'm allowed to tell the kids to teach toddlers Nursery Rhyme, please someone correct me if it's not allowed.

Dang! I thought this might happen.

Strange because I never actaully saw them fight. Seems like "just" being enemies can do it too.

For good measure I had Peter go out and scold Alegra before he reported Babs missing.

The very next morning, right on cue, Tiffany showed up again and Peter adopted her on the spot.
I hope, because it's less than 24 hours since Babs ran away, that I won't lose the "Two dogs at all times" bonus.

While Alcina was at work, I got Peter to invite Jeff Stallkamp over. I wanted to see if he would interact with his son.
He didn't disappoint.

Even sat down to enjoy the music his wee man was playing on the xylophone. D'awww

Granted, Jeff was just trying to be nice and put his son to bed, but why go for the spare crib tucked away in a far corner at the back of the lot?
It caused quite a bit of confusion because Felony was really tired and Jeff kept putting him down and picking him up again and trying to put him into the cot.

Finally Jeff got distracted by something else inside the house and Chaos swooped in and put Felony into a cot inside the house.

Aaaawkward.
Strangely he never slapped either Peter or Alcina. Thankfully. BTW, this was an ACR WooHoo and they didn't try for baby.

Now that there are toys in the yard I'm finding that visiting kids and teens will spend ALL their time on these and not interact with the Park kids and teens, so I've decided to fence them in and lock the gate, and allow household only.
As you can see I could only afford to fence in the roundabout.

Unfortunately the dogs also seem to be very attractive to visitors. Annoying really, because I want visitors to interact with the Parks. Perhaps I need to fence in the dogs too?

Meadow does seem to like to come into the house, though it's less certain she is building any positive relationship points with the Park teens.
At least Chaos seems happy.

I got Alcina to influence Balor to flirt with Meadow, and of course he had to go for the flirt that requires the most relationship points, Caress.
"No Balor, not in front of your whole family."

Outside Damian decided to throw a pretty little light show.

He grew up well and was off to a good start with a whole heap of aspiration points.
Notice Tiffany in the back there, dreaming of Babs.

Hmm, unfortunately he lost his childhood cuteness. His face went very much in the Brandon direction.
Oh well, never mind, he'll not be heir anyway because he rolled Knowledge. His LTW is to be a Criminal Mastermind.

Right peeps, this is where I'll leave it for now. Hope you enjoyed this update.

Take care and Happy Simming!
