I sometimes forget that a couple of real-life friends read this journal.
Today one of them said hello by sneaking up behind me, grabbing me around the stomach, and tickling me, basically. She's lucky I didn't react violently and elbow her in the face by accident or something. :P
Don't get me wrong, it was a nice way to be greeted, it was just...very unusual. =P
It's only "93", and "feels like" 100, with 49% humidity. If pigs sweat, I sweat like a pig when I'm outside. I think I'm going to go swimming this evening in the hopes of cool water. One or two more days of this kind of weather and I'm seriously considering getting my head buzzed/shaved/whatever.
I had my second two classes today...they don't look bad, though it's annoying that both bookstores are apparently already out of one of the textbooks, so I have to reserve it online.
They're Computer Communications Networks (basically a class about network protocols, apparently) and Digital Systems Testing (or some name like that...it's kind of interesting actually, it's a class about how things fail, basically, and how to design things/test things/whatever to guarantee they're correct, but only taking a tiny amount of time to test.)
Two of my professors are older guys with European accents, I think...like Sweden or Norway or somewhere? I don't think either is German...
There was someone who spoke at one of the orientation sessions who reminded me of Umbridge (from Harry Potter)...I surely hope this woman wasn't evil, but she was like a neatly dressed middle/older-aged lady with a constant smile while talking about stuff, and (I can't remember if she was warning us about stuff or not) she just reminded me of Umbridge's affected sweetness covering evil. :P Poor lady...she's probably quite nice.
There's also a girl on campus who reminds me of Luna...or at least, she seems really, really spaced out sometimes. :P She seems quite nice, just...spaced out.
