somebody said this of gatsby and catcher in the rye: they aren't great books and the characters (esp. holden caulfield) aren't characters that any adult should ever be identifying with, unless they're still at the maturity level of a 15 year old.
i have no words. none. other than 'the fuck?' and possibly 'is she retarded?'. my brain, it's broken. does not compute. has she even read gatsby? or is she too stupid to understand it? somebody give her one of his better books and i bet her head would explode. so.much.rage.
