Saturday Follies
Wow, I'm sure gonna miss snow. What a cool storm we've had. I won't miss walking out in it once it turns slushy and gross, but I'll miss sitting by the big window with a cup of coffee and a good book and just watching it fall...I'll miss the extremely pleasant summer weather too.
That's one of the big 3 things I can think of that I'm going to miss most about Chicago. The others are White Sox games and the sheer number of concerts of all types that come here. It's impossible to be bored in Chicago if you have even the smallest amount of culture or curiosity.
Oh, I'll miss the lake and the architecture. Billy Goat Tavern, the Blue Line Lounge, Indie Cafe, Bailiwick Theatre, Cafe Too, Tedino's, India House, Crew, Fiesta Mexicana, The Green Mill, Jimbo's, Blackie's, All-Star Cafe, Starfish, Fultons, Topoolbampo, El Barco, Hema's Kitchen, The Kerryman, Ceasar's, Bamee, Penny's noodle shop, Sam's Wine and Spirits, and Tina Mia's.
OK, I realize that's a lot more than 3 things.
Don't get me wrong, I couldn't be more happy about moving back to NoLa, and I know it's the right thing to do with every fiber of my being. That doesn't mean I won't miss the Windy City. I am so lucky to have spent a couple of years here.
Luckily, with my job, I'm going to be coming back here once every couple of months. Sweet. And just in time for Baseball season. On the plus side, I won't have to put up with obnoxious Cubs fans almost daily.
By the way, I'm kinda bored. Where is everyone on AIM today? Is it a national holiday that no one told me about?
