Summer on the Prairie
This is cruel. Just plain cruel.
My department was moved back to seats on the 8th floor with a spectacular view of downtown Chicago. Chicago is so gorgeous in the summer. It is incredibly cruel to be working in an office with the ability to see skyline, the most beautiful blue skies and an even bluer lake dotted with little white boats. Chicago is so pleasant in summer, and so many people out there sailing and having picnics in the grass and enjoying spectacular weather.
Cruel. Cruel. Cruel.
No wonder almost everyone leaves work early every day this time of year. At the very least, I am going to ask to be moved back to the 9th floor the view is blocked by the skyscraper next door and the only scenery is the occasional window washer.
