i've been writing a lot in my lj lately cause i've been reading some people's blogs and it makes me want to spew my own word vomit all over the internet

the electoral system isn't the only thing that is fucked up, our entire governmental system is fucked up, industrial civilization is fucked up, the global economy is fucked up, etc. etc. etc. etc. i have become increasingly interested in anarchism as a school of though and am starting to subscribe to that view (i'm guessing you know, but anarchy means no authority or power structure, in other words, no government). i'm not voting because i don't recognize authority. i am realizing that authority, power, wealth and greed (in other words, so called "democracy" and capitalism) are the root of most of the world's problems. if obama is elected over mccain, there will not be less violence in the world and there will not be a more equal distribution of resources and the planet will not be saved and racism will not end. there need to be huge systemic changes, probably starting with how we educate our children and live our own lives.
as for feeling like you're the only one - the last election only had a 30% voter turnout rate so you would be far from it, haha. although i'm sure most people did not choose not to vote out of principle, but laziness. anyway, regardless of how it looks to others, i'm still going to make the decision for my own reasons. and hey at least it can spark good, productive discussions like the one we're having right now, or one i recently had with a girl at work, etc.
i honestly have no idea if he's admitted defeat in other states... probably not though. i thought the whole thing was kinda weird.
oh and i didn't feel attacked or anything! i definitely enjoy discussions and i think the idea of not voting on principle is a bit strange for people. and as for what you said about being educated - you don't have to participate in the institution of school to be educated! i can recommend some books to you if you're interested in anything i was talking about, for example. (if it even made sense...................)
