Old Gear, but Good Gear: An Audience Participation Post

Apr 14, 2010 11:13

Once again, I've been inspired by a post on Mr. Will Gadd's blog: name the gear that's been in your closet for years and years, AND that still gets taken out and used on a regular basis. The equipment that has really stood the test of time.

My entries:

- A pair of cross country skis that are over 20 years old, used to belong to my dad, and which still get taken out for a spin every now and then.

- A set of camping pots that also used to belong to my parents, and which probably date back to the 1970s. They've been my primary camping pots for as long as I've been backpacking.

- My MEC Adventurer daypack. I've had the thing since I was 16 or 17, and it still gets used almost every day to carry gear to the crag, to work, to the gym, etc.

- A 300 weight polar fleece jacket. It's about 15 years old, and I still use under my hard-shell whenever I'm resort skiing, ice climbing, or walking around the neighborhood on a very cold day.

So, what's in your closet?
