First responders bury pets lost in Black Forest Fire ...For the next few days Csencsits worried about what had become of the dogs and other animals at the home. Saturday she got the news.
"I actually got a call from an officer, one of the law enforcement officers, on Saturday morning. She got out of her car and I could hear her take a few steps and that's when she let me know that three of the dogs were found together," Csencsits said.
Princess was also found on the property. None of the dogs had survived.
"It's hard. You have to wonder what they went through, what they dealt with and it's kind of relieving to know that they were together," Csencsits said.
But it was the actions of a few firefighters and two police officers that left Csencsits speechless.
"We were notified that the firefighters actually took the time to bury each of the dogs separately. They put a headstone for each one of them, wrote a note to the family," Csencsits said.
The dogs were carefully laid to rest, along with one of the cats.
