Giraffe on fire.

Despite my skeptical nature with this stuff, karma seems pretty hard to deny sometimes. (I think a few of you guys heard me raving about this when I was high).

So Isaac Newton? Every action has an equal and opposite reaction semadaba.

One way of looking at the world is that everything is composed of physical matter. Even our thoughts are "produced" from certain physical interactions of chemicals. It's complicated, and I don't know how I would explain "produced" if I had to (I guess it'd be like a hardware/software relation between the brain/mind (computational theory of mind)). I don't have any solid opinions about consciousness really.

But lets say consciousness is composed of chemicals, just like everything else. So that would mean emotions are chemically composed also. And if life does actually break down to certain chemicals interacting in certain ways then every action would have an equal and opposite one. So why wouldn't the "good" and "bad emotions balance out some how? Equal and opposite? Chemicals? Emotions? Consciousness? Physical laws? Cause and Effect? Free-will? Love the brain! (citing CJ).

Anyways, it's one of those weeks where everything seems inspiring and new, and all over the place. I love Umass, the campus is so beautiful, with all dem leaves. I like mixing up the balance of how much time I spend alone and with people. Like today I forgot my phone in MB's room, and there was a show called "The Universe" on tv, so I ordered wings, listened to music, and watched it for like 2 hours all by myself. I had like, the best time ever. And most of the people I know here are amazing. And if they're not amazing then they're at least interesting in some kinda way, like everyone is.

I mean it's a Wednesday night/Thursday morning @ like 2am, and I'm here at the library, just like hangin out by myself/with Mary Beth. It's really cool to take advantage of the freedoms we have. We're like on our own, who cares? Just do whatever. =)

Kavka's original version of the puzzle is the following:

An eccentric billionaire places before you a vial of toxin that, if you drink it, will make you painfully ill for a day, but will not threaten your life or have any lasting effects. The billionaire will pay you one million dollars tomorrow morning if, at midnight tonight, you intend to drink the toxin tomorrow afternoon. He emphasizes that you need not drink the toxin to receive the money; in fact, the money will already be in your bank account hours before the time for drinking it arrives, if you succeed. All you have to do is. . . intend at midnight tonight to drink the stuff tomorrow afternoon. You are perfectly free to change your mind after receiving the money and not drink the toxin.

A possible interpretation: Can you intend to drink the toxin, if you know you don't have to?
