some vector art!

;^; Been sore all over lately and Salonpas has been mummifying my body because of aching joints ahhh. Even my wrist has been hurting more than lately wtf! Anyway, I had some free time at work today and instead of opening up Photoshop to doodle, I decided to create something from scratch in Illustrator. :D

Created this little critter from scratch! I think work has greatly levelled up my vectoring skills, since most of the time I have to draw somethings from scratch in Illustrator (all freehand) and it's exactly what I've done with this. The Pen tool is fun to manipulate, the Brush tool even more so. This was partly inspired by LimKis' amazing artworks, and I really cannot fathom the way she uses this program. Programs are after all, tools to help us convey our artworks and I always have been in awe of how she uses it to present her ideas and artworks. o.o

I'm also trying to diversify the way I do things and to also explore what I can or can NOT do. These days, one has to be practically a jack of all trades in order to survive and feed one's mouth. uhhuhuhhu. T_T

Also I think it's kind of safe to post these now since the idea is pretty much canned? Or at least I don't see the concept being used anymore or prints of it anywhere.

These were also constructed from scratch in Illustrator... done for a local pharmacy's new look and campaign per say. I drew out the initial look for the people on paper first, and once they approved by my AD I proceeded to just freehand them out in Illustrator. My AD wanted them to look like the people from Groovisions, but it was quite a challenge to TRY and make them look like that but at the same time not copy the style. trust me the advertising world is all about copying-but-not-really -_-; that's how I feel hmph

In the end after many frustrated and failed attempts, I managed to settle on these and looking back on this project (it was done around Jan-Feb this year), it was kind of interesting. So these are kind of like the characters that I had to create to be placed in different settings and stuff.

and some more variations

I hope you enjoyed looking at these! uhihihi.

original, work stuff
