Weekends are like a time warp lately and it used to be that all my grand ideas would begin with "when it's warm outside..." Now, the days are gorgeous and it just makes it that much easier to wake up after staying up till 3am or 5am or 6am. It's still 50 or less degrees outside but I'm itching to take off my shoes and dirty my feet. Only the nights bare witness to this cold with their brilliant frost(though usually only up in Northgate). It began Friday: drove up to Anacortes with Justin and Jon to sit on falling apart couches in The Department of Safety while listening to Mt. Eerie and The Robot Ate Me. Onward to Saturday: pre-funkin' with the parents before going to The Baltic Room to dance away to DJ Garth secretly wishing to accidentally elbow making out couples with my flailing around arms so they would bite their tongues. I'm not jealous, really, truly. Sunday, Sundays are magnificent when you start them off sitting in front of Poverty Bay Cafe on the curb drinking coffee and tea. Basking in the sun. Jon and Justin then assisted me in picking out a receiver at Al's Music so that I would be successful in playing my records. A delicious beer to celebrate and continued on to work.
My head has been clogged with trivia: fighting with the concept of detachment and interdependence, ebu gogo "the grandmother who eats anything" our tiny ancestor that questions the relation between brain size and intelligence, are we merely intricately dreaming while in suspended animation and traveling to a distant world, also the miracle of midwifery.
