Do not trust political statistics

Sep 22, 2008 23:38

I get a phone call at the house [which rarely happens] and it's a woman who is conducting a survey. She addressed me by my first and middle name and it became clear it was a political survey.

During, she told me that she would say some statements and I would tell her how much they made me think of Barack Obama. Being that I don't know that much about Obama's views [yes, I am rather behind in my political studies], I told her so. She told me not to worry, that these were only for statistical purposes and would not be linked with my name. I replied that the statistics would be off because I could not answer truthfully. She still asked me to answer them anyways.

yeah...

Then, if that weren't enough, during the classification questions arose the race issue.

She asked, "Are you White, Black or Hispanic?"
I replied, "I am Native American.
"
Pause.

"So are you White, Black or Hispanic?"
"Well, none of those.
"
She moved on

seriously? That was some major crap
