HP fic: Post-DH

I actually have 6 random scenes written, but eh... am just going to share one for now. ZOMG, WHY THE PLUNNIES. WRRRRRRRY.

Also. Yes. I do realize my writing HP sucks. it's been 2 years since I've been in the fandom and now I'm playing with characters we barely know. Hurhurhur. I'm a wonderful fic-writer like that, whut.

So yeah... here's a scene~ Tell me if you think I should be shot or something. Then maybe I'll share another scene. |D

Albus stared up at the boy in surprise. "Y-you--"

The pale boy looked down at him dispassionately before reaching a hand out and asking, "Are you hurt?"

The younger boy stared at the hand for a moment before taking it. When he was back on his feet, he answered hesitantly, "Yeah... yeah, I'm fine, but you didn't have to--"

"Of course I did," said the other boy with a bit of a scowl. "My father would kill me if he were to find out that something happened to one of you Potters while I was around. I'd rather not have to deal with that sort of issue and jumped in. It's nothing more than that, so don't get any ideas from this."

Albus was taken aback by this but tried to say still, "But still... you didn't have to and... even if that was your reasons--"

"If you're going to thank me," said the other boy with a bit of a glare, "just spit it out and have done with it. I'd rather not have to stand around here and look like an idiot. It's bad enough that I have to deal with the reputation my father left me with. Hanging around people like you Potters and Weasleys will only do more damage."

"People... like us Potters and Weasleys?" questioned Albus quietly before he clenched his fists and demanded, "And what's that supposed to mean?"

The pale boy looked at him incredulously. "What else do you think it means?" he asked as though he couldn't tell if Alus was being serious or not. "The proud families of Gryffindor. You think a person like me, a Slytherin like me, wants to be around someone like you? Think again, Potter. The only reason I even came close to you is because I was told by my father to help you if you ever got into trouble--a way to pay back a debt my father has with your father. If it weren't for the threat of punishment if I don't follow his request, I would have just let it happen."

"'Threat of punishment'?" asked Albus, just as disbelieving. "Just what kind of family are you from anyway?"

A cold smile came onto the other boy's face then. "A pureblood family. One who willingly went against the Dark Lord at the last moment because they were afraid of losing it all. One who was saved by your father. One who owes your father more than any of us would like." He leaned in close, making Albus lean back slightly as the boy coolly continued, "The name's Malfoy. Scorpius Malfoy. And I suggest you be more careful. I don't like having to help a Gryffindor like you--someone not even smart enough to know his own father's history."

With that, Malfoy spun away and quickly stalked down the corridor, continuing on his way as if he'd never stopped in the first place. Albus stared after him until Rose stuck her head out of the compartment and said hotly, "Oh, no wonder Dad said those things on the Platform. Arrogant little prat, isn't he?"

"Y-yeah..." said Albus hesitantly, not really knowing what else to say as he tried to process the last few moments. What was it Malfoy had meant about his family owing his father? And what was it exactly that Albus was supposed to know about his father's history?

Aaaaand that's it! I still have half an hour to mess around before I have to head out for work. Urgh. Boredom~
