sudoku.com forums lost? and other news
Initial instructions for the puzzles in the individual rounds and playoff are now posted on the WPF Forum/Wiki. While the basic Decathlon structure had already been announced, the named puzzles now fill in some holes for the solver to know what to expect. For those who commented on the last posting, we now have some more specific information/solutions for the Just One Cell Sudoku that should focus your thinking regarding potential steps.
Onto my other observation; over the last few weeks, the sudoku.com forum has gone from unreachable to now seemingly lost as the old address goes to "Gamehouse.com". I expected when Wayne Gould sold the site rights that this might happen. I did not expect it would take close to a year of being mostly unchanged and then suddenly be gone. This site had some interesting posts on strategy and design and other things, is part of sudoku's history, and I'm sad to see it go. Is anyone aware of a mirror? Is the forum simply at a new link? I don't have the time to do the legwork now but I'd really appreciate any info people have.
