As promised, the following is a list of my favorite O-Town songs, along with a list of recommended ones. I don't know if this will be a regular thing, as I really only listened to a few boy bands. We'll see.
Featured Band: O-Town
Est: 2000
Disbanded: 2003
Members: Dan Miller, Jacob Underwood, Ashley Parker Angel, Erik Estrada, Trevor Penick
My top 6:
6) "Baby I Would". (Yes, it's cheesy, but I think it's a cute kind of cheesy. I could see people getting married to this. And their voices all blend perfectly on this song. Dan's voice sounds much better for this than Ikaika's. Listening to this makes me feel like I'm 13 again, dreaming of my dream husband and perfect future. Also, Jacob's croon.)
5) "We Fit Together" (This is probably the ultimate O-Town baby-making song. Liquid Dreams is well, about wet dreams. We Fit Together is straight up about getting down to business. I know there were millions of panties dropping to this song.)
4) "Liquid Dreams". (The dance moves are horrible, except for the body roll and gyrating. And it's a song that has ruined my childhood/teen years, but it's damn catchy. And Jacob sounds hot in it. I wouldn't mind being the girl of Dan's liquid dreams)
3) "From The Damage". (This song was written by Ashley, and it shows the lyrical growth of the band. When they're allowed to write their own songs, they are a much better band. It's a breakup song, but it doesn't sound like a typical boyband breakup song. It sounds like an adult alternative rock band's breakup song. And it's from the guy's perspective, and you can't help but feel bad for him. I like this song a lot and I think it should've been a single)
2) "Shy Girl" (This is such a catchy, cute song. Robs & I have decided that it sounds exactly like something that
bruceknuckles &
sonicvenom would do. It's the anthem of my teenage years, and even up until two years ago. The girl in that song is me, and it's just so freaking cute. It makes me smile and cry a little)
1) "All or Nothing" (My love for this song, especially lately, is CRAZY. It's one of those songs that you sway with your friend to and belt at the top of your lungs.
girlwonderrobin and I have watched the video + the live performances a million times and fangirled together. Jacob and Dan easily have the strongest voices on this song, closely followed by Erik. And I heart Jacob's flippy mic thing. Lyrically, some would say it's cheesy, but I think it's a declaration of a relationship at a crossroads. Is it all, or are we just friends? Is this how it ends? With a simple telephone call, you leave me here with nothing at all?)
Honorable mentions:
- These Are The Days (if for nothing else but the video. This is the video that led sonicvenom to deduce that Jacob Underwood is a brother of the herb).
- The Painter (Really pretty, beautiful, romantic song)
- Craving
- I Showed Her (the second album had a LOT of heartbreaking ballads, and this is one of them. This was meant to be the second single. but it never took off and they were dropped shortly after. It's really unfair)
