Mini break!
This weekend, after my two days at work, me and some friends went to Durras (near Bateman's Bay) for a little mini camping holiday. It was great. We went to the beach and built a sand castle, then decided it looked more like a screaming monster with googly eyes so we made it a little fat body. Then we dug a hole. It's amazing how the most pointless things can bring so much joy. The water was still a little bit too cold for swimming and there were enormous mutant blue bottles so we avoided actually going into the water.
I am feeling very relaxed now, though unfortunately, I think the others may realise just how crazy I am.
Me trying to unzip stuck sleeping bag: ...*mutter mutter grumble*...*thwack* AHH! YOU BASTARD!... A HAH! AAAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA! ... I win!
Gen: ...are you okay?
But then I discovered they are just as crazy so it's all good.
Me: *snort*
Nao: What's funny?
Me: The ducks.
Nao: heehee they are, aren't they?
Gen: You know what's even funnier? They have no arms.
Nao and me: Er, they're not supposed to.
Gen: I know. But if you divorce yourself from that fact...
LATER
Me: *sees crazy duck running* BWAAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Gen: I TOLD YOU!
This morning we packed everything up and left again. It was only after we'd spent a good fifteen minutes getting the tent back into its piddly bag that we realised we'd left my torch tied to the roof. Silly people. Then we had a very pleasant trip back to Canberra explaining to Nao the meaning of hole (as in "this place is a...") and subsequently the meaning of hobo and dero. When we got back to Canberra we went and looked at the Governor General's house and spent a while pondering what the hell he does with all that room, and then what the hell he does in general. We also visited the dam that keeps Lake Burley Griffin from "running away in the middle of the night when no one is watching".
I didn't think we'd get back as early as we did so I hadn't planned on going to my class this afternoon. Unfortunately we were back in time so I faced the dilemma of deciding whether or not to go. Good Carly was saying "you really should go. It's the last class!" and Bad Carly was saying "...huh?" Good Carly won. Now I have one of those headaches that you get when you've been in the sun too long and want to sit here and watch movies for a while.
Good news: I never have to write the word onomatopoeia again! (Except for just now.) ONOMATOPOEIA! (and then.) Essay is good and handed in and that makes me very happy.
Good news the next: Got my Advanced Japanese results back today. I am a nerd.
Bad news: Wee baby brother is in the middle of his HSC exams. Love to you, 弟.
